President Obama Changes Declaration of Independence to Omit "Creator"

Watch the video to see this blatant disrespect for God and Christians in America

    September 22, 2010

On September 17, President Barack Obama spoke to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute 33rd Annual Award Gala. During his speech - reading from a teleprompter - he quoted from the Declaration of Independence. Here is what he said: "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, endowed with certain unalienable rights, life and liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
    Watch the Video Here! http://www.youtube.com:80/watch?v=9GBiqX7Dnec
Obama omitted the words "by their Creator" from his speech. Why? Given the fact that he was using a teleprompter, I can only conclude that this was intentional. Either he, or his speechwriter, did not want to give credit to Almighty God. This kind of action would be in step with modern secular liberalism which is hostile to the Christian faith and hates the historical fact that America's founders revered and acknowledged God in so many ways that are indisputable, such as these words in the Declaration of Independence: "endowed by their Creator."
The best action Christians can take in response to this is to both work and pray for changes in Washington, D.C. You can start by getting everyone you know who is eligible to vote to register and vote November 2. We need more men and women who, like our founders, understand that our rights are from God and not from man.

Don't you know? Liberals/atheists/seperatists don't even like to acknowledge the Declaration of Independence, because of such!

I guess Obama's new policy, part of his change, is "when you must acknowledge the Declaration of Independence, just omit the bad things".

    Ediot!

Your mention of voting and women by our founders is funny, since women couldn't vote! Ridiculous really who cares? Like if he had said the words "the Creator" you would suddenly believe he wasn't a secret Muslim or trying to undermine everything Christian, ever in the history of the world.

You do realize that he will still be President on November 3rd....right, I don't need to draw a chart or anything?

Does anyone really think the Declaration of Independence is a Christian document?

Can anyone list one Biblical truth contained in it with Scripture to back it up?

Why do we get the idea that it must be quoted like scripture?

No, it's an American document. America was founded under "one nation under God".
All men are created with a sin nature and are under condemnation. Numerous Scripture on that.
I don't think anyone said that...but why the omission when the rest of the words were verbatim? Socialism and liberalism wants secular humanism to reign. Kind of hard when there is a God in the mix.

The underlying point is that our rights come from God - they don't come from the government.

There may at some level be a desire by the current administration to make us forget that - because in order to accomplish whatever it is that they are seeking it may require taking away a few rights from some people to do it.

In their minds people may be more willing to relinquish some rights to the government if they have the mistaken idea that our rights were given to us by them - rather than by God.

    I don't think so.

I don't believe anyone is trying to, I didn't read that any where.

I know when I miss quote John Dewey or someone else, I'm told I'm being disrespectful. I don't know how many times I've miss quoted a person's work, and folks have said you are not respectful. I can disagree with something and say so, that is fine as long as I'm truthful but I cannot misquote, is what I've learn over the years.

    Christian? Yes. Ecclesiastical? No.

Why, no! Nothing in the Bible about a Creator, or that men are created, or that God rules over nature . . .

    Are you for real?

    Guess not.

What basis do you have for that?

Where is man's sin nature or condemnation mentioned in the DOC?

Where do you find in scripture that any political rights are God endowed?

They aren't political rights, they are human rights.

And where are they found in the Bible? Does God really give all men the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

The early church certainly did not have those rights.

I have no problem with the president misquoting a document based on 18th century rationalism.

I don't like the pursuit of happiness, but He did give them life and liberty.

Only in Him. Not politically. Jefferson says nothing about life and liberty in Christ and they are there for the believer no matter what government is in power.

No one can take away a believer's life and liberty in Christ so why declare political independence based on that?

Well, it looks as though their plan is working then.

Seriously - the government endowed you with a right to life?

Sorry. Totally missing the point here.

I don't recall suggesting the government gives any rights.

BTW - I am not a big fan of Jefferson, Paine, or 18th century French rationalism. All of these form the basis of the DOI.

Your right to your life - liberty - and pursuit of your happiness (which I see more as purpose) comes either from God or from man or where?

    Which do you choose?

I just realised I have dragged this thread off topic. I got carried away with my dislike for the DOI and Christian near veneration of it.

    Apologies mods.
