But look at some facts. Parliament passed de-Baathification reform, pension and amnesty laws in an attempt at reconciliation. There have been no sectarian killings in weeks. Maliki is dismantling the militia groups and the major political parties in the ruling Coalition remain united. Sons of Iraq volunteers from the Sunni provinces did well during the recent fighting in Baghdad. They remained at their posts, behaved professionally, and helped maintain order. It looks very much as if all the sects are attempting to build a new Iraq.

Well then use whatever term you are comfortable with. The point is that Iraqis are the only people in the region that can elect their own leaders.

 

Unless and until they elect someone the "international community" hasn't backed or sponsored then we'll be back to the "regime change" game again.

 

They voted to authorize us to go in. There was no stipulations on that vote. And this has nothIng to do with what you said:

As a student of history you should have noticed by now that that has been our foreign policy for a long time. Set em up using one faction against another and knocking them down using yet another faction when they dare to defy the "international community" or NWO for short.

 

This is political theater to assuage the anger of democrats far left wacko constituants.
