Pretend I am new to the Board.

Tell me the story of Jesus. Who is HE?

    Why must I be saved?

What must I do to be saved?

What must I be saved from?

I'm sorry. You are not a fundamentalist. You should not be posting here.

Well, if I was lost and on my way to hell and just lurking, that advice wouldn't help me get into heaven. :( [IMG]

Exactly. But if you were lost and on your way to Hell, you most certainly wouldn't be a fundamentalist and therefore, wouldn't be allowed to post in the Fundamentalist Baptist Forum. That is exactly my point.

Joseph, that makes no sense given the fact that non-baptists are not to post in the baptist only sections. There is a forum for lost people. Btw, the theology section doesn't allow them either. Perhaps we should pitch the whole board and make it purely evangelistic. Yeah, that is a good idea. Great points.

Thanks, PTW. See, I'm not always into humor. There is a very serious side to me, as well. Thanks for seeing the point I was trying to make. [IMG]

Isn't there a verse that says something about always being ready to give an answer regarding our salvation, or something like that? (Don't have time to look it up right now.) [IMG]

We need to do more evangelism. And this Board could be a tool. Otherwise, we might as well pack it in and the Lord call us home! :(

You are thinking of 1 Peter 3:15.

Be ready to given an answer to all men who ask of the hope in you (from memory).

When was the last time someone asked about your hope?

    Joe,
I have read your post in several of the topics, and haven't found one yet that was either edifying or germane to the discussion. It is obvious, that you are in here just to argue, so out of brotherly love, please leave. Please go to the other forums, where is argument is the rule, and not the exception. We love you here, but are quite frankly, growing tired of your antagonism.

    Hi SheEagle,

I would love to answer your question...it's one of my favorites.

When God created the world in the beginning of time He created Adam and Eve...the first human beings. He let them have free reign of all they surveyed with only one stipulation...that they not eat the fruit from one tree. One Day Satan, the adversary of God took the form of a serpent and basically talked Eve into doubting the seriousness of what God told them not to do. She took the fruit and ate it, and then gave some to her husband Adam. When God learned that they had disobeyed him he punished them. From that time on sin was passed on from generation to generation to all mankind. This "sin" seperated them from God. From that time on preists would atone for the sins of the people with a blood sacrifice, a lamb or other animal. Blood holds the key of life. And was the only sacrifice acceptable to God. But it was never a permanent solution...it had to be repeated often.

But, God really loved the world...and He wanted to provide a way that the people he had created wouldn't be seperated from Him...that they would be reconciled to himself. He therefor made part of himself come to the earth in the form of a human being with the sole purpose of dieing for our sins. Jesus was born of a virgin...because it was necessary that he be sin-less, he was born without the normal carnal procreation of man and woman.

Jesus, 100% God, and 100% man gave his life willingly on a cross to pay our sin debt. It was a gift of God that every person who accepted this gift would be saved from eternal seperation from God after death. Anyone who asks to receive this gift believing that Jesus did die on the cross to pay that debt will have eternal life in Heaven. They will be forgiven for the sins that were imposed on them from the beginning of time... If they will just pray and ask for it. From that time on they will be born again of the spirit to be a new creature. The third part of the godhead, the Holy Spirit will then enter into them... The Holy Spirit has also been called the still small voice.

What must you do to be saved from eternal seperation from God in a horid place called Hell? Pray and ask for the gift of Jesus Christ. That's all. The price has already been paid, the gift is sitting there waiting for you...all you have to do is receive it. I know it sounds pretty simple...that's because God wanted it to be easy. He's not willing that any person should be seperated from Him. He loves us.

I hope that answered your question She Eagle. I have a list of Bible scriptures that I use as well. They are:

    I John 5:13
    Romans 3:10
    Romans 3:23
    romans 6:23A
    Revelations 21:8
    Romans 5:8
    Romans 6:23B
    Romans 10:9-11
    Romans 10:13

2Timothy 3:16 the validity of the Bible ;)

Wisdomseeker, with all due respect, you offered an incomplete gospel. This is the weakness of the romans road approach:
it does not include the need to repent.

    Luke 13:5
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

Joseph I have counted 5 negative posts by you in this new forum, I would think that with as many posts as you have under your belt that you would be more cival. What is your major problem with this forum, in my opinion it would be better for you to clean out a spot and have a fit rather than beat around the bush. Give us a break

Dear Preach the word... Thank you... actually I did refer to confession in the scriptures I listed.

I might add that I am the only person who answered the post question heretofor. Why is that?

Dear She Eagle... you are quite welcome, thank you for asking. I never get tired of the story either.

    </font>[/QUOTE]Murphy,

I stopped posting in this forum about an hour and a half ago and stated that I would not post again so as to not cause anymore trouble. http://www.baptistboard.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=48;t=000005;p=3

However, since you were not willing to leave it at that, I will answer your questions. Those who know me know that I don't beat around the bush. When I believe something, I will state so and tell you why. Thus is the case here also. I have been very clear about my objections to this forum and as to why. If you will click here you will see that:

I gotta start getting up before 8:30 P.M. [IMG]

I would first try to illustrate how the sins in my life that have seperated me from God. I would then point out verses in the Old testament where God wants to forgive us, and for us to be walking with him. I believe Micah, chapters 6 and 7 have some of the most beautiful references to this. I would then point out where we are promised a savior, and the prophecies concerning him,

    Isaiah 7:14
    Isaiah 53:3
    Jeremiah 31:5
    Isaiah 6:9 & 10
    Psalm 22

I would then point out pictures in the Old Testament of what Christ did for us. I would start in Genesis, where Adam and Eve found out they were naked, and God killed the animal to clothe them, Jesus keeps us from appearing naked before God. I would point out the Brazen serpent, Jesus heals those who look upon him. I would point out the first Passover, in Exodus, Jesus keeps us from God's wrath. I would point out Naaman dipping in the river Jordan 7 times, Jesus cleanses us. I would point out the story of the fourth man in the fire, in Daniel, Jesus protects us.
