What Professional Sports are located in a city within an hour or two where you live?
I live about 40 minutes from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Does that count?
This year we now have a minor league baseball team about 45 minutes away.
We have minor league teams as well as pro hockey, baseball and a minor league football team (The Bucs)
We have all four major pro sports -- hockey, baseball, football and basketball.
Bump bump bump bump bump it up!
Is it OK for a Brit to answer this? I've selected soccer (we call it Football, or Association Football to give its full name), hockey (ice?), basketball and other. Nearest Ice Hockey team is in Manchester (about 45 mins away), nearest basketball team is probably Chester Jets (about 45-60 mins away) but neither are big sports in the UK but ice hockey has a cult following.
There are also numerous Rugby League teams and one Rugby Union team so that accounts for 'Other'. There are several Premiership and lower division soccer clubs within an hour, the nearest being in Crewe, about 15 mins away. We are about an hour from Liverpool and (slightly less famous) Everton, and about 45 mins from Manchester United and the (again slightly less famous) Manchester City. There are at least seven Premiership clubs within the hour and another four not much further.
The main thing about British sport, espcially soccer, is that there are so many clubs in a much smaller country, and thus a lot more local derbies.
