The more we learn about what happened prior to March 2003 the clearer it becomes that George W. Bush is one of the biggest bunglers in the history of the U.S. presidency.

"Two intelligence assessments from January 2003 predicted that the overthrow of Saddam Hussein and subsequent U.S. occupation of Iraq could lead to internal violence and provide a boost to Islamic extremists and terrorists in the region, according to congressional sources and former intelligence officials familiar with the prewar studies....

The assessment on post-Hussein Iraq included judgments that while Iraq was unlikely to split apart, there was a significant chance that domestic groups would fight each other and that ex-regime military elements could merge with terrorist groups to battle any new government. It even talks of guerrilla warfare, according to congressional sources and former intelligence officials.

The second NIC assessment discussed "political Islam being boosted and the war being exploited by terrorists and extremists elsewhere in the region," one former senior analyst said. It also suggested that fear of U.S. military dominance and occupation of a Middle East country -- one sacred to Islam -- would attract foreign Islamic fighters to the area.

The NIC assessments paint "a very sobering and, as it has turned out, mostly accurate picture of the aftermath of the invasion," according to a former senior intelligence officer familiar with the studies."

You think that the National Intelligence Council(NIC) produces hate propaganda for the left? You're kidding, right?

Welcome to the website of the National Intelligence Council. The NIC is a center of strategic thinking within the US Government, reporting to the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and providing the President and senior policymakers with analyses of foreign policy issues that have been reviewed and coordinated throughout the Intelligence Community.

From the source of the Opening Post (OP):

So Bush deserves a hero's metal (assuming, of course,
that he read the evaluations?). By taking the war to Iraq
these foreign Islamic fighters are fighting each other in
Iraq instead of killing undocumentated aliens in the USofA.
Oh, I just figured out what the problem is ;)

Uh, I think that it is the Washington Post's spin on the
NIC reports that is hate propaganda from the left.
It is not the product(s) of the NIC that is left leaning spin
    hate propaganda.

    Thank you Ed Edwards....

And let me only add in my support of what you made clear Ed that

He also deserves a medal for doing what is right even if there is opposition...

Since when has doing the right thing only been acceptable if it was easy
or if there was guarantee of success....

Fighting for the right is it's OWN SUCCESS... the rest is in GOD's HANDS!

GOD BLESS AMERICA, OUR TROOPS and FREEDOM AROUND THE WORLD!!!

    In Sincerity and Truth,

So are you saying you no longer support the overthrow of Sadaam ?

    Gunther, I don't think that's necessary.
