    I noted a few counties from Texas but keep in mind they do not have an income tax.

    Excellent observation. Its easy to say how bad your taxes are in one location - but you need to compare apples with apples.
    For example, (most counties in) NY has about an 8% sales tax, but there is no sales tax on food.
