Featured Pushing your beliefs on others

    Today ran into an atheist and did not have a Tract but instead asked her questions. She gave a snarky reply on why she rejects God and that I was pushing my beliefs on her. I then asked how asking her a question was pushing my beliefs on her and did not receive a reply but she is one of many that believe in privatization of religion. They do not want to talk about their faith and if you ask them questions then you are forcing your beliefs on them. So this type must be confronted with the law and warned of the fires of Hell. Why give the gospel to someone that will trample it under her feet? Why give the gospel to someone that hates God and is way way way too proud for it? NO! Use the law and warn about Hell to the proud.

    Use something people reject to convince them of their error?

    Why not use the Gospel, "the power of God unto salvation"?

    The gospel saves lives and is the power. But... she probably would have prayed the prayer to get rid of me and then would be a false convert!

    You are seriously saying that the gospel could lead to a false conversion and the law and hellfire would be preferable??

    Isn't that a bit backwards?

    I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that an atheist isn't going to care about the 10 commandments at all. They also aren't going to believe in hell. And they've probably heard it all before anyway.

    A friendly gospel presentation might be rejected, too, but the law, etc. isn't some magic bullet.

    They'll tell you to go take your fantasy sky God and get bent.

    They are hard if not impossible to reason with unless God grants faith and the effectual call by the Holy Spirit is in work.

    What do you mean, "she would have prayed the prayer?" Would you have led her in that direction? Or do you see people that present the Gospel as being "sinners prayer" people?

    Let's say you've presented the Gospel. The person is under conviction of the Law and says they want to repent but they don't know what to do, and ask you for help. What do you say?

    I don't understand why you say this is a rare case. It ought to be the goal of any Christian who is witnessing to have God lead people to the point where they ask you, "What must I do to be saved?" We ought to crave that moment.

    And we better know what to do.
