In his comments regarding Hebrews 9:16-17, J.Vernon McGee makes the statement (regarding Christ) "...What I am saying is that the life of Christ could never save you. It is the death of Christ which saves you." This statement is from the THRU THE BIBLE series; in which other similiar statements are found. My question to dispenational-minded brothers is-- Would you agree with McGee's statement without qualification? The Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter XI, III, Reads "Christ, by his obedience and death, did fully discharge the debt of all those that are thus justified, and did make a proper, real, and full satisfaction to his Father's justice in their behalf." Is McGee denying the active righteousness of Christ? If so, how many other dispensationalists do this?
