    Time honored or not, the issue of different versions has nothing to do with this.

    The only churches that I hae seen this in was the one in Mexico we went to help, and a "personality cult" church in my area (everybody read what the pastor read, and nobody doesn't read what the pastor doesn't read).

    Choral scripture reading is just not done in my part of the world.

    Ni hao, if one chooses the text(s) appropriately and then places those in the bulliten (or use a projector) then when the entire church reads it together there is not a problem.

    I personally think we should do responsive reading as a Church. Unfortunately, it had become institutionalized and not meaningful to the people ...
