....meaning outside of the US. And particularly in Europe....

Do people in your nations drone on and on about politics and their leaders and issues like Americans do? Everyone has an opinion here about everything.

I guess what I'm trying to find out is if this is unique to Americans in particular, or is it this way where you live...

And also, do you think it has anything to do with the rise in popularity of the Internet and 24-hour news?

You see how we are on this board....blah, blah, blah. Just curious. ;)

PS: Dr. Bob, if you want to move this to the Politics forum, okay. But I thought it might get "covered up" over there, LOL. ;)

Maybe we all ought to just emigrate, I mean once manifest destiny played out, colonialism/mercantilism became masked by industrialization, gun-boat policy led to a couple o' WW's we just ain't had much else to do. At least that explains the popularity of reality tv, and the apparent shockingly awesome journalism following in its wake, I mean what do you think those guys at nasa are looking for new galxies for?

Ok, I'm warmed up now, what was the question?

Yeah USA is full of human beings with opinions same as everywhere else. Australia drones on and on about the rich, famous and infamous, who is doing what to another.

The constant onslaught of horror and violence has decided for me to quit watching the news and reading the papers. I am sickened by it. I can use this time to offer prayers up for mankinds salvation instead.

Australia has its share of Politics. you cannot get away from it here as voting in State and Federal elections is compulsory.

Yet more often than not, Australian Rules Football will knock politics off the front page. :D

Same here, local and European elections are coming up so political posters are EVERYWHERE. One of the big new items yesterday was about a candidate for the European Parliament having 150 of his posters stolen. As many as this guy has up I am surprised he noticed.
