Santha, is it possible that you can restrict any of the ads that pop up? I'm not opposed to most of the ads, but does a Baptist site really need to be advertising for:

    mormon.org

    Confused

First of all thank you for bringing this to my attention.
We have restricted any unrelated or ads that could be even slightly of offensive nature.
Having said that mormon is categorized under the religious ads section.
I will go and block this ad specifically out, so it doesn't show up.
Have a good rest of your evening!

Just another reason not to have to deal with the ads.

    Are systems smart? Probaby.
Do they have human intelligence. No
Like anything they have their good and bad.
We should take the good and learn to improve the bad parts instead of just ignoring them.
IT guy inside me is speaking :)

Santha, I appreciate you're an administrator for the site and that means its a lot of work. However, being consistently defensive about major changes to how this site operates, particularly related to the significant upswing in advertising philosophy, isn't helpful for our community. This board has been a place for spiritual, theological, and denominational community for a long time. That community is paramount to us who are regularly involved (even if it means we yell at each other) and these ads were not introduced to the community before being placed on the site. Perhaps enjoining the members of this site to be part of the next evolution of the site is a better way to bring about change than making these changes without our participation and input.

    Thanks for all you do.

The restored church of god ads are interesting too. Has anyone noticed these, and looked into this false sect? They're offering a free book on revelation. :)

    Thank you for Input.
Let me take a minute to respond and hopefully clarify some of the items.
My vision for the site is grow and flourish, where people share, discuss and grow in faith related topics.
Most of the ads were already there on the website, after I took over as the admin I optimized them to match the responsive layout our site has.
Most of our ads, if not all of them are of informational type, none of them advertise any offensive or unrelated content. We have taken great care in restricting controversial ads.

As you know our site gets supported primarily by ads, as we don't get much donations.
What I can do is to look at ways to redesign the ad portion of the site.
So if the member becomes a supporter by donating, they will see an ad free version of our site.
Again - I don't know how much time it would take for me to redesign that, but that will be my action item.
If you have further questions feel free PM me.
    Blessings and Peace!

I'll have to get it off of my tablet since my PC blocks ads. I will look and see if I can find it.

IMO - I don't see anything inappropriate here.
We don't endorse/support these ads and it doesn't represent Board's or its members views.
Here is the excerpt from the terms.
BaptistBoard doesn't endorse any of the ads or affiliate program notices.
