You have forgotten this simple fact:
"If your King James Bible ain't got the Apocrypha in it, then you ain't got a REAL King James Bible." [sic]

My Authorised Version has more than 66 Books..........

Awww, Ed. You gotta get it hot to get that small really rolling...

Yes, I am here. And, yes, I love the fellowship, even with the KJVOnly gang. I would not have a problem worshipping with any of them (as long as their 'doctrine' wasn't preached from the pulpit, 'cause then I'd get up and leave).

I regard all here as brothers and sisters in Christ, no matter our differences on the KJV issue.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

    Preach on Trotter.

I wish some KJVo's wouldn't get mad and just go home when the kitchen gets hot. I've never quite seen people who get so upset simply because we won't accept their later day revelation that God tells them the KJV 1769 is the complete 100% inspired translation.

It is sad. I will listen to them, and I have changed my mind on this board (particularly old
Earth to New Earth based on evidence shared with me by Helen). This proves my point that I can and will change my mind, but I have to have evidence and proof, which the KJVo group has yet to provide.

If anyone wants to try ot convince me of anything, they will have to do it with facts, not feelings. I learned a long time ago the if you base anything on feelings, you will go astray.

Without the facts to back up what someone is trying to convince me of, they are just wasting their time. Before I was a Christian, I used to take those 'holy rollers' for a spin by asking them questions they couldn't answer (mainly because they didn't know their bibles or theology). But I had 'facts' that I used, 'facts' that were skewed but accurate.

So I need facts. Not someone's personal conviction. Not someone's personal experience. And until the KJVOnlyists can give me cold, hard facts, I will continue to stand against their man-made myth.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

You are absolutely right. I personally believe that many cults result because people want to believe something that is "emotionally satisfying".

You are right about holy rollers I know one poor old man who was Baptist and started going to a holy roller church and claimed he got Baptised by the Holy Spirit. It only occurs when you speak in tongues (which all of you know). This is so sad. Human emotion can make you do almost anything, including commit suicide while under the control of your leader.

None are so blind as those that refuse to see. I forgot that you all are [snipped] and serve the [snipped], I came in under the misunderstanding that this might be a real place to talk openly about the topic at hand. I see that this is a ‘bate and switch topic’ and the papist rule the day. Just remember when you have [snipped] in you top positions like the RC, UM and Episcopal, you made the choice. I will not debate, as you are not willing to debate, we have no common base or rule to even address the topic in any form of real or even logical debate. (I suspect that few of you even know what the term means) Now if you wish to continue to attack me I will find out how your moderators handle this type of attack. :D

Howdy Ken4JC! [IMG] It's been sooo nice to meet ya, even if for a short while. [IMG] Most everyone who "stands" here gets run-off or leaves on their own...

EdEd recently posted the site where all the "formers" who have been banned(lately & in the past) are meeting now. I don't know how to write it as he did, but I can give you the website: www.onlinebaptist.com

You'll never get anywhere here with these babies, so at the risk of being rebuked myself, I just wanted to let ya know this. :D

Streetpreaching, eh? Amen! We're going out today...best thing I've ever done is hold a sign in the chief places of concourse. Keep standing, brother!

Ken4JC:None are so blind as those that refuse to see.

That would be the KJVO who tries to make something out of nothing.

I forgot that you all are(snipped)

Another baseless, typical, stupid KJVO statement. I snipped it because it is a violation of the rules here. Can't you talk about the ISSUES, & try to answer such questions as, "Where was God's word in English before 1611?"

I came in under the misunderstanding that this might be a real place to talk openly about the topic at hand.

The topic at hand is Bible versions , with KJVO being a no-brainer addition to any such topic in England, the USA, or other nations whose primary language is English. And this particular thread is "questions from a KJVOnlyist. If you'd like to ask any questions if you're a KJVO, fire away. I'm not ashamed to answer & not too bashful to answer as truthfully as I can.

I see that this is a ?bate and switch topic? and the papist rule the day. Just remember when you have open queers in you top positions like the RC, UM and Episcopal, you made the choice.

There's a strong rumor that King James was....well, sometimes practiced an alternative lifestyle. And there's not one peep of evidence against the current Pope in that respect. I don't give a pinch of flea waste about the RC religion, but there's plenty of TRUTH against it, & there's no need to bash it by telling a lie when we can simply point to their mariolatry and their equating oral tradition with Scripture.

    I will not debate,

    Because you'd LOSE, big-time.

as you are not willing to debate,

    ON THE CONTRARY...

The evidence in the various threads shows that many here are more than willing to debate. If you're so high-and-mighty erudite that you think we're all a bunch of Forrest Gumps, then please provide some EVIDENCE in support of your view.

we have no common base or rule to even address the topic in any form of real or even logical debate.

Yes, we DO. We have two groups who have opposing views, each trying to prove the other wrong, each trying to prove itself right to 3rd parties, with moderators in charge, to prevent the debate from becoming a FIGHT. You have come here calling names & questioning the faith of others. In over 20 years of attacking the KJVO myth, I've heard it all, in the same stupid, ignorant pattern. Are you able to rise above that pattern and explain why KJVO is right, despite its total lack of Scriptural support?

(I suspect that few of you even know what the term means)

If you change the tone of your posts so you don't get the boot, you might be quite surprised to find you're not dealing with a board full of yokels.

Now if you wish to continue to attack me I will find out how your moderators handle this type of attack

Calling down the material in your statements is quite different from an ad-hominem attack. And whatever attacks your statements receive, remember, you've brought'em upon yourself. However, we will NOT question your faith nor your relationship with GOD. And notice that I called your STATEMENTS above stupid, etc. I know they didn't originate with you; I've seen'em all many times before. And I know smart people sometimes say some not-too-smart things.

I, for one, believe KJVOism is totally false & will continue to attack it(not you personally, nor your FAITH) long as God allows. If you can prove differently, go for it, but, with your present attitude, your stay here may be brief.

Granny Gumbo:Howdy Ken4JC! It's been sooo nice to meet ya, even if for a short while. Most everyone who "stands" here gets run-off or leaves on their own...

Why are they gone? Several reasons. First, it's coming in here with an ad-hominem attack. Next, it's because they cannot stand having the myth they've believed for years being shot down by the TRUTH. Then, some of'em know they're CLUELESS against the truth, and, rather than accepting the truth, they quietly slink off.

EdEd recently posted the site where all the "formers" who have been banned(lately & in the past) are meeting now. I don't know how to write it as he did, but I can give you the website: ]www.onlinebaptist.com

Looking over that site, it should be renamed "Comedy Central" or "Oldies but wannabbee Goodies KJVO Statements".

You'll never get anywhere here with these babies, so at the risk of being rebuked myself, I just wanted to let ya know this.

Far as I'm concerned, you're right. I will not believe something I KNOW is a lie.

Streetpreaching, eh? Amen! We're going out today...best thing I've ever done is hold a sign in the chief places of concourse. Keep standing, brother!

    We agree on something! Hallelujah!

    robycop,

This just PROVES you are CLUELESS. First step to really understanding, is to stop ASSUMING, for you make an (blank) out of you, and a (blank) out of me. Ever heard that before? IT is true, and you and many here are guilty of doing it.

And to Ed, you don't fool me. You fool everyone else on these boards, but your true colors are evident to me. I know you know what I am talking about. See ya on the other boards.

Even so, may the Lord bless you all richly with knowledge and understanding his truth and love.

love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,
    michelle

If what you said is true then you forgot about what Jesus said to do in that case where you might be mistreated.

Just remember when you judge with such a wide brush that includes Romans 2:1. I assume you believe God's word is 100% correct. Then I'll quote it in the KJV for you.

Romans 2:1, "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things."

Are you guilty of the same thing?

Are you including me too in your statements? Does that include KJVO's with no facts? Just listen to http://www.ankerberg.org/TV/ankjasrd.html and scroll down to Which English Translations of The Bible Is The Best. The KJVO people speak for themselves. You can hear them speak very clearly.

If you think that you can post information expecting it to go unchallenged then you are mistaken and are not ready for debate.

    Ken,

Perhaps you need to tone it down some. Remember that we need to try to act like Christ, not just give "lip service" - that's the EASY part.

    Robycop,

Since this is a thread on KJVo questions, I was listening to Ainkerman's show last night -- you can see the information on the other thread.

The editors of the NIV and NASB asked the KJVo guy what Bible was used before 1611. He said, there wasn't always a Bible for everybody. Not until the KJV came out was there really a Bible for everybody. Since that was when the King decided everybody should have a Bible in their hands.

I thought this, along with their argument using Psalms was a quite interesting answer. It is interesting that half-truths are often used to support the KJVo myth.

Funny, he also kept saying the Bible that we are using today is an AV1611.

But, there's only been a few typos corrected...

Just like on this website, their answers were either emotionally based, or they refused to answer by coming back with attacks saying the MVers were saying things they weren't.

I guess the trend remains the same everywhere. If you have no answers, then you have to change your strategy. At least none of them tried to pull off that "God told them it was the right Bible".

Many KJVO have typically left the BB in a huff, a tantrum or both.

I believe we will have another soon.

Too bad, no one learns anything except more about the flesh, its venom and its ability with insult and innuendo.

Should I do it like they did; I guess you cannot pant the MV'ers with a wide brush they are not all the same. :D In fact they can hardly agree on anything but the general hate they have for the KJV or what ever they can focus hate on to make up for the fact they have nothing else in common. ;) I came to this topic in an agreeable tone, and was attacked by your wonderful welcoming comity. Then they back out like a gang of [snipped]and say we were just having some fun boss, I guess we went too far. Then a moderator is kicking me at for my reply, do you all have brown shirts too? I was just having fun boss sorry if I went over the edge. :D

I was just having fun boss sorry if I went over the edge. :D </font>[/QUOTE]Give some facts if you expect the issues to be addressed. You gave no specififc examples just your opinion. If someone offends me I must provide specific examples. Not just general opinions.

You stated, "In fact they can hardly agree on anything but the general hate they have for the KJV or what ever they can focus hate on to make up for the fact they have nothing else in common." What are the specific facts? Could you give some specific examples?

I guess you seem to paint me in one of those categories too. I watched some men in a church lie about the attendance and stood against that. I also watched them invite the Mormon bishop to come and preach and I stood strongly against that. I also stood against some investments using tithe money that the church was involved in that were not even close to being biblical. All in the name of making money on the interest. The corporation went under and was put on the national news. The church lost its money.

But I have a good friend who is KJVO that I invited several times to come and preach. He doesn't make a big deal of it. He just loves people and preaches the word. Never once has he ever labelled me as you have.

Thank you, I am ashamed to say that one of this boards moderators was shagged on the topic of Unmerited Grace on that board; I am a member of the IFB board already (I am Baptist not IFB – Br Cloud is not my pope). I had hoped for real dialogue with other baptist but the anti KJV is very deep on this board, that is why I do not attend any local Church they practice the same kind of Slap you Kick hard when the questions get to hard. I was looking for a Church, now I am only looking for Jesus Christ to return, I will not drag my family in to another den of snakes or submit them to popish preaching. As for the rest of you, I am not offended by your narrow view of God’s ability and I have a lot of hope for you and me that in this struggle to do the will of our Father that one day we will sit at the same table and with eternity ahead have a sad chuckle at the points made in vain, when we could have worked so much better together.

I cannot think of a single instance where Jesus ran from the truth. So if you believe you have the truth and it can stand the test of fire, then let it stand. If it is the truth it will stand, if not it will fall.

    Ken4JC,

I admire your spirit, but not your technique. Your first couple of posts were fine, but then Mr. Hyde jumped out of the closet!

If you want to debate, then debate. If you want to rant and rave and rail at everyone who does not see things just like you, well, you're in for a long (or short) haul. You see, there are rules for these forums, and you wouldbe well advised to check them out and follow them. Personally, I do not want to see you banned from the BB.

You are entitled to your opinion, and, yes, believing the KJV is the 'perfect' word of God is just an opinion, and will remain an opinion until someone can come up with solid, concrete evidence.

We all have our opinions, but not one of us here 'hate' the KJV, as you have accused us of doing. In fact, most of us use the KJV as our main version (not I, but many here). We love the KJV, and it is a good translation, but it is still ONLY a translation.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

I musta missed that one, as i was typing some business as I was listening to the show. I remember Ankerberg himself asking one of those men the same question and he said roughly the same thing. I can't recall his exact answer, so I'm gonna listen to the tape again soon.

That question - "Where was God's word in English before 1611?" hasn't been answered directly by any rabid KJVOer. They KNOW the next question will be, "Then why did the AV translators change it?"

I thought this, along with their argument using Psalms was a quite interesting answer. It is interesting that half-truths are often used to support the KJVo myth.

That's all the ammo they have. Their floundering in a real debate is an example of what happens when they load a .460 Weatherby with .22 Shorts - FIZZLE!

Funny, he also kept saying the Bible that we are using today is an AV1611.

That's where the wannabees get that chant.

But, there's only been a few typos corrected...

Just like on this website, their answers were either emotionally based, or they refused to answer by coming back with attacks saying the MVers were saying things they weren't.

And they haven't changed a thing in all these years. Same garbage now as then, in a new garbage bag.

I guess the trend remains the same everywhere. If you have no answers, then you have to change your strategy. At least none of them tried to pull off that "God told them it was the right Bible".

They use the Goebbels strategy: "Tell the same lie often enuff without changing it, and sometime somewhere someone will start to believe it."
