I came across a quotation today that I found amazing. My paternal ancestors came from Prague and I have been studying Czech literature recently. This comes from Milan Kundera's The Book of Laughter and Forgetting. This was written from France in 1975 after the communists had exiled Kundera. His writing was banned in Czechoslovakia until the fall of the communists in 1989. Kind of puts what we see in the American Public School system's approach to history cirriculum in perspective.
