I just read that the experts who listened to what the murderers of Nick Berg were saying said that there are plans of random kidnappings in the US that will also end in decapitation.

Can anyone imagine what will happen if this were to occur? Do you think we as a society would crumble into chaos as a result of the panic and fear that would ensue? How would Americans protect themselves? Would some people go off the deep-end and start attacking Arab-Americans/nationals?

For arguments sake, lets say this did occur. What could possibly be done to stop future kidnappings?

Do you think President Bush would resort to nuclear weapons?

I know that this is a tough and difficult topic to discuss, but it looks like things are going to get worse before they get better. These islamic demons are turning up the heat, like it or not. I feel we just entered a new era of terrorism with the beheading of Berg and I don't think we can no longer fight effectively in a "civilized" way if you know what I mean.

    Thoughts?

If we're talking individual personal protection, we do have the Second Amendment. I personally do not interpret Scripture to say that we should be wussy little submissive wimps. Now, if we're called to be a martyre, that's one thing, but I don't believe God would want us to accept this without a reasonable attempt to defend one's self or one's family.

How would (and how DO) I defend myself? Well, let me just say Texas has a Concealed Handgun License law, and I have one.

Bush's open border/amnesty policies make something like this much more possible. But it seems that his mission is to destroy our cultural fabric and make us a multi-cultural wasteland like much of the world. I doube that a few kidnappings would bother him unless it was too close to election time.

I think there is a reason why this sort of thing hasn't happened in this country. That reason is the perception that we as individuals would rise up and take matters into our own hands if the government couldn't handle it.

I;m not so sure that would be the case today with all the gun control laws and bleeding heart policies that our children(including me) have been raised with. No matter what I was taught in school though, about leaving individual protection to the police, my family believed strongly in the right to bear arms. For my parents that meant a rifle and a shotgun. For T and I it means a concealed handgun permit and a couple of good handguns. We both know very well how to handle them.

I'm with ZeroTX, if they bring to us, we will protect ourselves.

California has one as well. I may be wrong (if so, someone please correct me), but I believe about 20 states have CCP laws.

Here in the Cuba of the Pacific (Hawaii) they have almost eliminated the Second Amendment.

If you want to own any firearms, you have to submit to a lengthy background check (30 days) and if anything looks suspicious, they will deny you.

Rifle permits are good for a year only, then you have to go through the process again. Handgun permits only last two weeks.

Concealled Carry permits don't exist here in Hawaii.

Yesterday on TV, there were lengthy news stories on "beheadings" and the practice of beheadings. It was the topic of the day. As I flipped the channels it came obviously clear that the Book of Revelation seems to be unfolding before our eyes. I understand that we may not be in the final days, but for the first time, they are talking about Muslims beheading Christians and others who refuse Islam. They are talking about the practice and reason why Muslims are mandated to behead people.

All I could think of was what Hal Lindsey wrote in his LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH back in the 1960's, based on what the Bible says that the elect will be beheaded. For years I couldn't imagine anyone beheading people....now it's real. Now it's on the news. There is an enemy loose in the world who is threatening more beheadings.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to live in a state which respects the Second Amendment need to use our rights. There's more than one occasion of God supporting his people in battle, and I do not for a minute think that submitting to death is the will of God in every case.

Jesus submitted, because it was his purpose. The prophets submitted, because it was their purpose, and they had already done their work on earth.

It's sad to hear about Hawaii having taken away Second Amendment rights. Extremely sad. This was one of the foundations upon which this nation was built. An armed populace represents freedom from TYRANNY... I believe it was Thomas Jefferson who said "An armed society is a polite society"... or maybe I'm misquoting [IMG] There are numerous others, however.

May the Lord bless us all.

When they outlaw catapults, only outlaws will have catapults.

Racial profiling. It's good judgment sometimes.

I don't believe that one bit. You think they'll come right up from in front of you with eyebrows all knit up and looking grim ? They'll sneak up behind you when you're least aware of it, or use an American Muslim to get you. Heck, I even think it is the American Muslim who will be in the forefront of kidnapping-beheadings, if you ask me.
The best weapon is : no trust, no confidence, don't follow the White House lead.

But oftentimes ineffective, and offensive to others who may just innocently be passing by, and can be used to harrass. The best way is for police to add counter-terrorism intelligence units to their units, similar to their anti-organized crime units, and build up an intelligence database on all muslims in their precincts and go from there.

    PinoyBaptist,

You misquoted me. I didn't say the above remark regarding racial profiling, Aaron did. ;)
