"Already under fire for his tax troubles, Manhattan Congressman Charles Rangel really put his foot in his mouth on Friday.

In a CBS 2 HD exclusive interview, Rep. Rangel called Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin "disabled."

The question was simple: Why are the Democrats so afraid of Palin and her popularity?

    The answer was astonishing.

"You got to be kind to the disabled," Rangel said. "

Isn't he the chairman of the House Ways and Means committee? Isn't that one of the most powerful positions in the House? In Washington?

Totally without class....and completely consistent with liberal democrats recent behavior.

They are panicked, and what they really believe keeps coming out of their mouths.

    peace to you:praying:

If you read on you will see he clearly meant politically disabled...

Now you have to admit, if your foreign policy experience is "I can see Russia" then that would make her challenged in this area.

I call for this man to resign. He's an absolute disgrace. Imagine, politician tax cheats getting support from the left.

    Amazing.

You have to admit that a tax cheat chairing the Ways and Means should resign.

He is more "politically disabled" than Palin ever thought of being.

Let's try that out and see how it fits...

Why are the Democrats so afraid of Palin and her popularity?

"You got to be kind to the politically disabled," Rangel said.

That answer doesn't make any sense. They are afraid of her because she is "politically disabled"? Why be afraid of the popularity of someone who is politically disabled. They are no threat because their political disability would cause them to lose big time.

No he meant disabled as in mentally disabled.

Let's try that and see if it fits...

Why are the Democrats so afraid of Palin and her popularity?

"You got to be kind to the (mentally) disabled (and everyone knows you can't attack the mentally disabled)," Rangel said.

Critical thinking skills will help you overcome the spin they want to send at you.

Websters defines idiot as "a person affected with extreme mental retardation", therefore i think it is an insult to the truly mentally disabled to call politicians idiots.

It does make sense, it's the same reason you don't tell a man in a wheel chair you can beat him in a foot race.

I think the jury is still out on Palin but you have a good point about Rangel should step down.

Anyone who runs for president . . .

is either nuts or thinks he has already gone as far as he can go or is under orders from our owners.

I think he's been bitten by the political correctness law he'd like to impose on everyone else. The word "handicapped" became "disabled" which became "disadvantaged" which will become something else once someone gets offended by its meaning. I don't make much of what he said because I don't care what he says. I think he's an idiot and a crook! He has lots of company in Washington! The "idiot" word is probably also not politically correct but neither am I. I don't think he meant anything related to a physical handicap. I think he was just throwing out words to suggest she's not qualified. It's self defeating to make a fuss over these words because it will only come back to bite someone else. We need to get over the sensitivity issues of words.

Politicians are lucky. There is always someone who will defend anything, no matter how out of line and offensive it is. It is too bad that is has to be here.

Apparently, according to the Dems, foreign policy experience isn't necessary since they nominated someone without any. So why are they making a big deal out of her lack of it?

Rangel was a disgrace to this country long before this tax thing or this statement.

Not true, Obama's met foreign leaders which must be sufficient since Palin is meeting some this week in NY. If this was not to boost her foreign experience column they'd spend the time selling their economic programs to voters.
