You should narrow down the ratings to like or dislike. If that is not possible you should get rid of it altogether. It really is nothing more that an opportunity to bash people. I guess we have all been guilty of it a time or two but it just cause more problems that it solves.

Well, it can be used for bashing, which is unfortunate.

Then there is a clique of several people that "Like" practically all of their friend's posts. They've got over 1,000 Likes and strangely, less than 70 Dislikes. They just run up the positive ratings, I guess it's some sort of a weird self-image renovation project. They also go around and Dislike people that put forth ideas that they don't agree with. They ought to use the Disagree button instead, but I guess they like to inflict negative ratings that go on the record.

I think that "Dumb", "Old" and "Bad Spelling" should be jettisoned. I like the other ratings.

That clique is the Calvinists. I'm not afraid to say it.

I have several posts I know some of the others in the clique will be along later today to pile on their ratings as well.

Not "the" Calvinists...only a group of them. We watched the Outsiders last night (my son just read the book for school). It's like that...small groups representing but outside of the whole. :)

The only rating that I can see as useful is "agree", only because no one cares when someone disagrees without offering an explanation. But I agree with you.

Actually it is not all of them but it is the majority of them. And I was not trying to be precise.

Perhaps. I actually thought we had more than a handful here, but I really don't know.

That said, I do agree. I think some use the rating system to troll and insult. The options themselives facilitate that use (instead of telling someone to "chase a rabbit" you can just click the "dumb" rating).

The way some people use the like and dislike button tells me more their theology than the many words they post.

That's true.....and the way some use "negative" ratings probably tells more of their character than most realize.

I like the "informative" button. Especially when I am trying to let a poster know I appreciate the info he or she posted, even if I may not be in agreement with it.

I see what you are saying, will work on finding out a solution that will improve the rating experience.
Fyi - Everyone can edit their posts for the first 90 mins.

    Look forward to it.

I could not edit my post immediately after posting it and realizing I had a typo.

Yes, of course. It is all the fault of those who believe Salvation is of the Lord. :)

If it were up to me I would keep Agree, Disagree, Funny, Winner, and Informative. But that's just me. :)

So if your not a Calvinist then you don't believe salvation is of the Lord?

A poodle? No way. A poodle is a working dog. A water retriever. (They have webbed toes making them strong swimmers, and the strange haircuts are to keep their shoulders warm while keeping the rest of their fur from getting waterlogged and dragging them down.)

Those dogs are valuable. They work for a living. It is more like the little ankle biters, Chihuahuas and such, that they remind me of. :D :D

Unfortunately we can't edit our posts in this forum once we see something is wrong. However, your pettiness is noted. So now are you going to answer the question or is the answer to dangerous for you being an admin and all.
