I just started reading "Chosen By God". The only other book by him that I've read is "The Holiness of God", which I thought was excellent. Next on my list are the rest of his books. :D "Essential Truths of the Christian Faith" sounds like something that would be good to have multiple copies of to give away, I'll have to check it out.
Does anyone else like his work?

Essential Truths of the Christian Faith represents Presbyterian doctrine, as RC Sproul is a Presbyterian. According to RC, infant baptism is an Essential Truth.

I would reccomend "Know what you Believe" by Paul Little as a good summary of the Faith.

Really? I had no clue what denom he was, that's interesting! Funny how Christians can be much more alike in beliefs when you don't look at them under the cloud of labels.

Lee Strobel's Case for Christ/Faith books are excellent, although I wouldn't call them a summary of the Christian Faith. They're more of an apologetic defence of the Faith.

Funny thing abut RC Sproul (whose writings I think are great, even when I disagree with them). Someone once asked him what "RC stood for. His reply was that it stood for "RC". [IMG]

Although I do not agree with his infant baptism stance,I do appreciate his reformed position and family emphasis....I do agree with his conservative piont of view on quite a few things.

We get his newsletter *Every Thought Captive*(I think that's the name.(Actually this is Rc Jr's publication)

Some authors you just learn to trust. They will give you quality stuff on any subject they choosen.

Think I'll start a thread on "authors we can trust". [IMG]

    Robert Charles, for the record.

I have a few books of his in my library:

    </font>
    • Chosen By God</font>
    • The Glory of Christ</font>
    • The Mystery of the Holy Spirit</font>
The latter two are actually the second and third part of a trilogy, the first of which is The Holiness of God, which is also very good.
Another book of Sproul's that I have read and enjoyed is Willing to Believe, a historical survey of the debate between free will and predestination.

Since he is a Calvinist and a Presb. I don't agree with everything he says, but his book The Consequence of Ideas which discusses the different types of philosophy/ philosophers is excellent.

My first reformed theology book was by RC Sproul,
    (Grace Unknown).
I do not agree with infant baptism.
