I said there were some pretenders. A pretender is not a true member of the church. Look at what John said:

1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

In fact Paul indicates that there were some that were false apostles among them.
God knows them that are his.

And hereby we know that he ABIDETH IN US, by the spirit which he hath given us. Being born of the word of God. What is the word of God ? Read at the top and you will find out what the word is. His seed remaneth in him and he cannot sin. What is the seed ? read at the top and you will find out what the seed is. He is talking about a GOOD seed at the top. There is only One good seed. He said that SEED REMANETH IN HIM. That means that seed will not leave. Whosoever is born of God doth NOT COMMIT SIN. You cannot COMMIT sin because that seed is Jesus. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our SINS; AND IN HIM IS NO SIN. If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. This does not say we commited sin. We have sin but we do not commit it.

1. My point is: Strong's is not an adequate source to do serious studies.

2. Strong's is only helpful up to a point.

 

Is this like saying if the dictionary you use don't have the meaning you desire then use another dictionary???

 

1. I respect those who turn to Strong's for help, but as someone who has done advanced studies in Greek, Strong's is simply not enough.

2. Those who use Strong's should know the limitations of Strong's.

3. Some have not gone on to do advance studies in the languages and so they rely on Strong's. There's nothing wrong with this.

4. But they must understand that Strong's was designed to provide help up to a certain level.

5. Strong's is not an end in itself. If that is your belief, then that is your belief.
