Yerp! Right beside the verses that say God retired in 1611!

    More than that!

There is a degree of inspiration, degree of faithfulness in following the guidance of Holy Spirit, which influence on the choice of basic texts, choice of words, and understandings.

There has not been only one English Bible since 1382,
    2007-1382 = 625 years. About 1382 is when the Wycliffe's
Tranlslation was completed. Study page 744 and following
of G.A. Riplinger's book IN AWE OF THY WORD. The
Wycliffe translation came into an England where it was the
    Second English Translation :)

    Personally I have (using e-sword.com ) a parallel Bible
with the 1587 Edition of the Geneva Bible and the
1611 Edition of the KJV. And just for good sport I have
the KJV1769 Edition Bible which I'm familiar with for doing
searches. And For an added bonus I have the KJV1769 Edition
    complete with Strong's numbers.

NASB is a very much accurate translation ( Word to Word principle), from Wrong, Wrong Texts! Do you agree ?

Is it possible to find the words "hijack a thread" in any English version?

'Cause I've read four and a half pages of the stuff!

And I chose not to vote, to keep from giving any legitimacy to any hijacker, from any point of view.

Sorry, Ed Ed Sr. to see that your thread/poll is being hijacked from multiple sides.

    Eliyahu,

FYI it is against BB rules for a non-Baptist to post in a 'Baptists only' section of the board. Please refrain from doing this so the moderators do not have to take action. Thank you.

Really the problem here is one of semantics. I use the KJV almost exclusively when I am preaching in English, as a matter of fact I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times I have used another version.

Does the poll consider the NKJV to be a KJV? Which KJV are we to be 'pro' on- the 1611, 1613, 1629, 1638, 1744, 1762, or 1769 edition? Cambridge or Oxford?

Not only that, but just because one does not use the KJV exclusively does not automatically make them 'anti-KJV' any more than voting for an independent candidate makes on anti-Republican or anti-Democrat.

That's an interesting way to word the question. I am not against the use of the King James Version, that's a personal choice. On the other hand, because the language of the KJV is outdated, the manuscripts used in its translation not as old, and therefore not as accurate as those used in modern translations, the advances in translating Hebrew and Greek that have occurred since the KJV was translated, and the fact that the KJV is not nearly as accurate in terms of syntax and structure as the more modern translations would make it silly to use it as either your primary translation, or your only translation, of the Bible.

You may be one of the few who do not know that I have got the exceptional permission since you participated later than I did.

You were warned. The first to vote for 'anti-KJVs'
    was user: hawg_427.

I don't even have to explain why this thread was closed.

    The hijacking was successful.
