    rom 5:

    For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

    This scripture is very clear that those for whom christ died, his elect, sheep, his church..that we were reconciled to God by the death of christ, and that while we were enemies by nature..

    The elect arent enemies as in the seed of satan, but in that by nature, we are enemies in our minds towards God, more like at enmity..i.e col 1:

    And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

    The word reconciled is the greek word:

    katallassō which means:

    to change, exchange, as coins for others of equivalent value

    a) to reconcile (those who are at variance)

    b) return to favour with, be reconciled to one

    c) to receive one into favour

    This is strong here, for it denotes, even while we [the elect] are in a unregenerated, unconverted state, and engaging in a ungodly lifestyle, we the elect, for whom christ died was recieved into the Favor of God..we had been accepted in the beloved, on account of His death..

    Rom 5 10 reconciled to God by the death of His Son, in the greek its a aorist passive, its past tense, and we recieved the action from the merits of his death, that is reconciled to God..

    Now, its clearly taught in scripture here, that we had been reconciled, put into the favor of God, while we were at enimity with God, meaning before faith, believing, or repenting..

    Now, if the elect were reconciled to God before believing, before conversion, so also where they Justified before God by the death /blood of Jesus christ as well.. notice rom 5:

    9Much more then, being now justified by his blood,..understand that his blood in this verse, is the same as his death in vs 10..and so both blessings are secured by His blood or death..

    Not only are we the elect, reconciled by Jesus christ death while at enmity with him in our minds and works, but likewise we have been Justitifed before God by his death, even while we were in a state of enmity in our minds and wicked works..

    This is very important to understand, because satan, the deciever, has fooled, deceived many into believeing that faith or believing iis the causative reason for Justification, and not the death/blood of christ alone..for this is a false gospel, and he that is snared with it is not wise unto salvation..

    God is going to use this message to either deliver His people, or confirm the devils people in the lie...

    But be sure, all spiritual blessings were given freely to Gods elect ones, by and through the bloody death of their chief Sheperd..

    I agree with you. As you know from my posts. IMHO the death and resurrection of the Christ is the faith, the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen, by which the justification took place. Next it says we shall be saved by his life. Is this in the future tense? Is it speaking of his resurrect life that will save us?

    Yes, its future tense and it denotes New Birth and Glorification. All who have been breconciled by His death shall be born again..

    Yes the New Birth is derived from His resurrection 1 Pet 1:3

    3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

    The blessings of being reconciled, is that Jesus christ has made peace with God for the elect.. col 1:

    And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

    Paul writes having made peace..not offering peace, or making peace available, but Jesus Christ has made peace, and has reconciled the elect of all time, in heaven and on earth unto God..

    Making peace with His cross, thats the meaning of reconciliation, restoring to a peaceful relationship, this is again what the death of christ effected, and not as the false teachers teach, that peace is merely offered to all mankind or merely made possible to guilty sinners, but in all actuality, peace has been made by the cross of Jesus christ, reconciliation has been made for all them he died for..

    We the elect have peace with God as it pertains to His Law we violated in adam and in our personal sins..but notice..Col 2:14

    14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

    So Jesus took away the enimity of the Law against Gods people..

    Next and a sorely neglected truth, is that Jesus christ took away the enimity that the elect have by nature towards God..Col 1:

    20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

    21And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

    Jesus christ reconciliation on the cross, ensures a renewd mind that is given in the newbirth..a mind that serves the law of God as in rom 7:

    I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

    This is only true with a renewed mind, not the mind we have by nature..because as col 1 21 clearly states, that mind is alienated and at enmity with God..

    But the renewed mind as in eph 4:

    23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

    24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

    be ye renewed is in the passive voice in the greek, so the subject is being acted upon..This being acted upon is the result of , not freewill, but the death of christ..you see, the death and blood of Jesus christ ensures this new mind and heart, because the elect have been reconciled to God by His death..

    This is what ensures Justication by faith, that we have peace with God..because of the reconciliation his death effected..God preached the gospel to Abraham in saying: gal 3:

    8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

    Now how was this effected ? The Justification of the heathen by faith ? Why it was effected by His cross..His reconciling them unto Him..

    eph 2:

    13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

    14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

    15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

    16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby

    lastly, the reconciliation of the cross, makes peace between Jew and Gentiles..race differences are broken down, the enemity that brings..again eph 2:

    14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

    15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

    So these are a few of the Things that result from the blood of Christ and having been reconciled by his cross..

    Peace from the law of God

    Peace from our natural enmity against God

    peace with our racial differences with those of the same household of faith..

    May God through Christ be Glorified today..

    The results of being reconciled to God

    its so much rich blessing in the truth of reconciliation, though the opposing ministers have done their best to corrupt this truth, by saying that reconciliation is merely possible or available for all, or that its not salvation, but we have a profound truth here connected with reconciliation rom 5:

    10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

    Now, while the elect were yet enemies, not when they had faith, or when they repented, but while dead in tresspasses and sins, at enmity with God, enemies in our minds, we [the elect] were reconciled objectively by the death of Jesus christ..now..much more, or in addition to objective reconciliation, having been reconciled, paul goes on to say, that we also shall be saved by His Life..that is , we are ensured, guareented, a subjective renewal in this life.. this is confirmed here in Titus 3:

    5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    Paul is saying, that all the elect, who were reconciled objectively by the death of Jesus christ, will experience the atonments life giving benefits, by way of the Holy Ghost renewing them or newbirth..

    Contrary to the false teaching of the adversary, the reconciliation of the work of christ is effectual and life giving ..again subjective renewal is sure..

    If the elect, or those for whom christ died are reconciled unto God by the blood, or death of His Son, even while they are active enemies, , how is it that the wrath of God abideth upon them ?

    Even while in unbelief [enemies] its impossible for Gods wrath to be upon any that are reconciled by christ death alone..so how should we understand a verse like this:

    Jn 3:36

    He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

    This one not believing the son, and the wrath of God abideth on him, the word abideth means remaining, or continuing on him..

    This cannot possibly be one who has been reconciled to God by the death of His Son..hence, all men are not reconciled to God by Jesus christ, but only some are, namely the elect, the church, the sheep..

    The elect are born sinners !

    Because the elect are born sinners, that is in a sinful condition, just like the non elect are [the seed of the devil] it is written that Jesus christ came into the world to save sinners:

    1 Tim 1:15

    This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

    But notice what paul did not write, that christ Jesus came into the world to save all sinners..

    Its a selection of sinners Jesus christ came to save, the election of grace, and the rest of the sinners are blinded..

    Now, those of us who are the election of grace, even though we are born sinners, the worst kind, yet we are still born under the blessings of the New Covenant, or The everlasting covenant, which was ordered in all things, and sure..

    David said when blessed to have had Gods covenant revealed to Him:

    2 Sam 23:5

    Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.

    This covenant tended to all the needs of the elect vessel of mercy..paul says in Phil 4:19

    But my God in [Covenant] shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

    All of life is renedered absolutely secured by admittance into the blessings of the everlasting covenant, which the elect of God are born into..heirs of it..

    Even when we are born sinners and rebels by nature, God sets us apart with a special divine providence protecting and preserving us until our conversion..

    This paul indicates here with himself Gal 1:15

    15But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

    The word for seperate is the greek word

    aphorizō and it means when used of paul here:

    to appoint, set apart for some purpose

    Paul as well as all the election of God are formed for a purpose, the first and main, being conformed into the image of their elder brother Jesus christ..Rom 8:28

    28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

    29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

    Thats the High calling of each elect vessel of mercy Phil 3:13

    but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

    14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

    So you see, thats the First and primary purpose of God, for separating the elect from their mothers womb.

    And of course a subjoining purpose is that of fulfilling the ministry that each elect child of God has appointed of the Lord.

    eph 2:8-10

    8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

    9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

    10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

    So there is a difference in sinnership, not in that the elect are better sinners than the none elect, but they are better off sinners, in that they

    have been chosen of God for mercy and salvation and born into the world under the providential care of the everlasting covenant of grace, and the non elect sinners were not..and thats by Gods design and purpose..

    Reconciling with Enemies

    This is one of the hardest things for me to do....to me its a sign of weakness....In the world Im from you crush them (Your Enemy's) so they never can threaten you again. That is a survival tactic. One employed by successful people. Reconciliation is just plain weakness.

    No condemnation while in unbelief !

    Those who teach that the elect are under Gods [ Legal Judicial]condemnation for sin before they believe, because of a misunderstanding of John 3 18

    18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

    Those are denying the Non imputation of sin unto the elect world [ 2 Cor 5 19] consequently denying the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ who had those sins [ of the elect world] imputed to Him [ 1 Cor 15:3]..hence it was for this cause the sins of the elect world were not imputed to them..Hence God the Father imputed the sins of the elect world unto Jesus Christ and He was condemned for them on the cross..

    Now the elects sins having been imputed to Christ for their remission, does not mean that the elect people will not still be born sinners by nature, for this they will be, but, all their sins guilt and legal condemnation they deserve, has been paid for already by the Jesus Christ..

    So to say that they [ the elect] are under condemnation while in unbelief, is a flat out denial and repudiation of the Work of Jesus Christ on their behalf..Thats a accursed Gospel

    We shall be Saved by His Life !

    The elect, having been reconciled [Justified] to God by the Death of Jesus christ, while in nature, and at enmity with Him, we shall [a promise] be saved [ experientially] by His Life..The Resurrected Life He now Lives..

    rom 5:

    10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

    Jesus christ is now and has been for over 2000 yrs alive in heaven on behalf of all His elect He ever died for..To ensure the execution of all the Spiritual blessings that His death provided for on their behalf per rom 8:

    32He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

    He being our surety of a New and Better Covenant: Heb 7:

    22By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament[Covenant].

    Matt 26:

    28For this is my blood of the new testament [Covenant], which is shed for many [ The church/ His Body] for the remission of sins.

    Heb 9:

    16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator [ Jesus christ].

    17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

    Jesus is the once dead, now alive Testator of the Covenant and He lives to ensure that all His legatees recieve a bequeathment of their rightful Inheritance..which The Holy Ghost working in them is part of:

    eph 1:

    13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

    14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

    You see, Jesus christ Living in Heaven ensures the Holy Ghosts conversion work on behalf of all whom He died and rose for.. The Holy Ghost is the earnest of their Inheritance along with other things reserved in heaven for them..

    The word earnest is the greek word:

    arrabōn which means:

    money which in purchases is given as a pledge or downpayment that the full amount will subsequently be paid

    Jesus christ sends the Holy Ghost to regenerate or give newbirth to all the heirs of promise, and thats merely a down payment of all the other blessings Jesus has provided for all his joint heirs..

    So Jesus christ ever liveth making Intercession in behalf of all He died and now Lives for heb 7:

    25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

    Jesus christ Intercession work on behalf of His chosen ones ensures all the bestowal of spiritual blessings upon them in their due time, to bring them, or convert them to God..

    Jesus christ present Life in heaven, His Intercession [ rom 8 :33-34]

    Absolutely ensures 1000% the Saving Conversion Work [ Renewing Work] of the Holy Ghost as in

    titus 3:

    5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

    Yes, because He bequeathed us with our portion of the Inheritance He secured for us by His blood..The Holy Ghost renewing us is a down payment, an earnest of more future Spiritual blessings, yeah even up to Glorification..

    This is True, even while and when we are born sinners and rebels and enemies of God by nature, yet even then, we are reconciled unto God by His Death and blood shed, and that secures and makes certain that we shall be saved [converted] by His Life, where He sets at the right hand of God, unti He makes His enemies His footstool...

    In other words, regeneration (Holy Spirit regenerates) precedes conversion (then we convert/realize/confess we are regenerate ).

    Reconciled unto God by the death of His Son !

    rom 5:

    10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

    2 cor 5:

    18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

    eph 2:

    16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

    col 1:

    20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

    Notice how the scriptures uniformly declares that some have been reconciled unto God, and not God reconciled unto them ! That is because there was no enmity in the mind of God towards the elect[ but love], but the enmity was in our hearts towards Him..

    All the enmity was in us who by nature hated God, while He loved us with a everlasting love..col 1:

    21And you [the elect], that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

    All of us who have been positionally reconciled to God, will sooner or later in their lifetime have it made manifested by their turning [ or being turned] to God, or their conversion unto Him..That is the reconciliation of the death of Christ is the cause that effects our Faith and Repentance unto God..

    Those who we see in scripture turning to God, or repenting i.e acts 2, do so because they had been reconciled unto God by the death of Jesus Christ, His death therefore brings them to God:

    1 pet 3:

    18For Christ also hath once suffered for sins [by His death], the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

    This tells us that the reconciliation on the cross ensures the practical turning unto God from our idols and vain religion's to serve the True and living God through Jesus Christ.

    Acts 3:

    26Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

    1 Thess 1:9

    For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

    heb 9:

    14How much more shall the blood of Christ [or His death], who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

    So contrary to the False teaching of the Antichrist followers, the reconciliation upon the death of Christ, ensures and effects a practical coming unto God through Jesus Christ, a coming to the True and Living God..

    He never needed to be reconciled unto us, for He Loved us, but we needed to be reconciled unto Him, because we hated Him, and He accomplished this through the death of His Son..

    shall be saved by His life !

    Romans 5:

    10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

    Paul teaches plainly here that all who have been reconciled to God by the death of His Son, shall be saved by His life..

    Paul is quite sure of this, not a if, maybe, ,or perhaps..but definite and sure.

    Shall be saved by His life..

    What does paul mean when He said, those having been reconciled by christ death, that they shall, not might or maybe, saved by His Life ?

    Well first of all, All those He died for and reconciled to God, He now by His resurrected life lives for them and interceeds for them..

    rom 8:

    33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

    34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

    also heb 7:

    25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

    shall be saved by His Life !

    The Lord Jesus Christ intercession for those He died for, ensures that the Holy Spirit renews them..which is a kind of saving titus 3:

    5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

    So His death and resurrection ensures the new birth of the elect, and that saves them from the dominion of sin and enables them to serve God acceptably through Jesus Christ..

    All those that were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, God had charged their guilt on Christ their Surety and Mediator; and so they even while in a condition of enmity against God, stood clear of all sin in God's sight, and were constituted righteous or made righteous 2 cor 5:

    19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

    20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

    21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

    So the ministry of reconciliation in 2 cor 5:19 was specifically designed for those who had been objectively reconciled to God by the death of His Son.

    see Rom 5:10 and 2 Cor 5:18-120

    It was only for those God did not impute their trespasses unto them.

    Subjective reconciliation is for those who have been objectively reconciled by the death of Christ.

    The death of Christ has already objectively reconciled Gods elect , even while they are enemies [by nature] Rom 5:

    10For if, when we [Gods elect] were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. [ subjective reconciliation]

    Being saved by His Life, is another way of saying that they shall be subjectively reconciled, by Christ life, which He imparts to them by the Holy Spirit in New Birth.

    All for whom Christ objectively reconciled shall be subjectively reconciled or converted.

    This truth that we are enemies of God, and that, according to Him, we are not "good" as some claim on here, and that our works are seen as "wicked" before God should be enough Scriptural evidence to prove to those who espouse the false teaching "we are really good" that they are clearly in the wrong.

    In another thread some folks watched a video, took a proof-text that said "keeping His commandments is simple" built a false doctrine on this, saying, "see we can do it", and taking that false premise to it's logical end would mean there is no need of Christ.

    Only one Person could ever, and has ever kept the Commandments of God. That Person being our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

    How deceptive for folks to think this way. It is contrary to Scripture and truth, and believing this is in and of itself enmity toward God, and this, perhaps, unknowingly.

    One more thing, no one anywhere has earned election conditionally (by something they've done) which has been taught on the BB, it is totally, 100% unconditional that God elects His own.

    Praise God for sound doctrine.
