With the corruption trial of one of Sen. Barack Obama's longtime friends and supporters set to begin Monday in Chicago, Ill., reform watchdogs say it will reveal the "cesspool" of Illinois politics in which Obama came of age and has said little about in his campaign for president.

I wonder if Obama's relationship with Rezko will effect him as much as Giuliani's relationship with Bernie Kerik. I doubt it. Democrats just seem to get a pass when it comes to political corruption as long as it advances the party.

I dunno. I think the honest Obama supporters would say this is very troubling.

Nobody's going to tell me that Obama didnt know that this guy is unethical. When someond offers you a crooked deal, you just know it and Obama is being disingenuous if he acts stupid.

There are three things happening with perfect timing for John McCain that will hurt Obama.
    1. The Rezko trial.
    2. The NAFTA gaff
    3. And the fact that next month is the Senate budget dabate which will pose tough questions for the democrats on taxes that will become a preview of the fall election:

“That is the sucker punch they want. They want that fight,” says Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-Ill.), watching from the relative safety of the House. And given Senate rules allowing dozens of targeted budget amendments, it could be open season for Republicans, who are eager to draw a sharper line between their likely nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain, and the two leading Democrats, Sens. Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York."

What percentage of major newspapers in the United States as well as Europe will endorse the Democrat nominee whoever he/she may be? I would say 95%. The Democrat nominee will only have to deal with McCain. John McCain has to fight the MSM along with his opponent. Even the NYT, after endorsing McCain started to rip him a new one after it was clear that he clinched. Republicans are handicapped from the start.

I wouldn't assume that Senator McCain's opponent will be Senator Obama.
