At tonights Monday night football game the Philidelphia Eagles retired Reggie Whites jersey #92, as you may remember Reggie went home to the Lord earlier this year, he was a Christian who really loved the Lord. Reggie was very active in witnessing to team mates as well as athletes from other teams. He went Green Bay and retired from football after a number of years with the Pack. Reggie also did commercials for Campbells soup until he started speaking out how homosexuality is a sin.
    He also worked with youth.

As the games progresses the Seahawks are dominating the game.

In his last years, Reggie fell victim to false teachings on the Law, etc. He spoke in our church and really said a lot of very odd and Biblically incorrect things.

The "Minister of Defense" is a sure thing to make the Hall of Fame when he comes eligible. His move to Green Bay was a big reason why the Pack won the Super Bowl a few years ago.

I was at that game last night and the Reggie White tribute was very nice.

When Merril Reese announced Randall Cunningham, the crowd in our section started chanting put him in, put him in".

I liked Reggie White a lot. When I went to Fountain of Life, in Burlington, NJ, he did a lot of things with us and was very visible in the Christian community in Philly and South Jersey.

He was very generous with his time and his money.

Just to give you an idea of how popular he was here, when it was rumored that he would be leaving, there were numerous rallies and marches at City Hall. I've been in this town for more than twenty-five years now and I have never seen anything like it.

He was by far the most popular athelete in this city.

As for his going off the track, doctrinally, that's true. He did get a little out there, but don't we all now and then?

He's gone now and I prefer to remember the good that he did and hope that he would have corrected himself, had he had the opportunity.

We had a nice retiring for his college jersey here at the Univ. of TN as well. I always heard he was very generous.

What specifically did he say that was unbiblical?

He stressed the need to comply with the OT ceremonial law, and he downplayed the importance of Bible study. It has been a couple of years, but I remember our pastor saying at the next service that he could not endorse ANYTHING Reggie said.

Reggie also was associated with some very sordid characters here in the area. One black church that was burned, initially thought of as a hate crime, was actually a colleague of Reggie's doing it for money. A charity or two that Reggie was involved with was debunked as being shady. There are other things, too, but I hope the good outweighs the bad.
