No matter how much I try, I still cannot find a suitable replacement to the TNIV.

The TNIV has it all: readability and accuracy.

I'm not trying to find a replacement for Today's New International Version. The ISV seems to come rather close, but I don't appreciate the fact that the translation team borrowed extensively from God's Word translation without acknowledgement. I do intend to buy it when the whole edition is finished. Then you can look forward to more comparisons.

The NLTse reads even better, but the TNIV's accuracy is top-notch. It's rather under-appreciated presently but will pick up steam within a year I predict. What will help are some major apologies from World magazine,Wayne Grudem, Leland Ryken, James Dobson & Co.

Another revision wouldn't hurt either. I sent in several hundred suggestions for the New Testament a couple years ago. A number of others contributed suggestions for the Old Testament.
