    For sure I have.

Have you read, "Up From Slavery" by Booker T. Washington?

Also, I answered your question. Have you read anything by the folk I mentioned in the earlier post?

I think your talking about "Black Liberation Theology", and if you are, you're right.
"Mal-distribution" and "economic parity" are straight out of his writings.

Also, Black Liberation Theology states that Christ will side with the oppressed, and salvation comes through suffering.

Now I respect Jeremiah Wright for his service in the Navy and Marines, but he's sending a lot of black people to hell with his sermons.

The NYT cropped Bush out of the picture at Selma today. I don't know why he bothered to go. Republicans were not welcome there.

One civil rights leader said that it was insulting that Bush was there.

"The Selma movement was about non-violence and peace and democracy, and George Bush stands for just the opposite -- for violence, and war and stolen elections. And George Bush's administration had people tortured. So I thought that this was not an appropriate event for him. I'm also concerned that the legacy of the Selma movement, which stands for nonviolence, will be confused and so I did not wish to be part of something that included him. ... George Bush's presence is an insult to me, and to people who really do believe in nonviolence."

Lol...that he is. People with a lack of education usually throw that excuse around.

If you know Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver you should be in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living human!

I have read about them but I don't know them. And don't brag on your education. It is nominal at best!

    I have heard an old saying that sometimes rings true;
"He has been educated beyond his intelligence."

Always suspicious of those who flaunt their "education", as if that is their one claim to fame!?!?

Anyone should be able to understand the colloquialism in the association between "know" and "know about".

And as far as education goes, if mine is nominal at best, then it would be correct to say that your's is non-existent.

It's safer not to judge someone by what you lack. (Daniel 5:27)

Well I do not know him but I read a book on GW Carver. He was a truly amazing man and brilliant especially his work with the peanut. I know nothing of Booker T. As far as degrees I have two associates in electronics for one and the other in Arts and Religion. I got those later in life. A PhD I have none but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

And the best books ABOUT B.T. Washington would be the two-volume set called "Booker T. Washington" by Louis Harlan.

You seem awfully proud of your education. I would lay this sin at the foot of the cross.

That, my friend, is usually said by folk who are trying to make an excuse for their lack of knowledge or understanding. A person can never be over educated. Education should last all of a person's life. It does not have to be formal education. I have know several very educated men and women who did not have the opportunity to go beyond high school. In fact, when I was a kid we had a neighbor woman who was quite educated, but had been forced to stop school after the 3rd grade to take care of her mother. This was in the late 1800's.

Never, never stop reading, learning and challenging yourself and your beliefs.

Better to be proud of an education than proud of ignorance. There are people who are proud of their ignorance.

A person can never be too educated. In face, most folk I know discover that the more education they have the more they realize they do not know. It is like climbing a mountain and discovering there are ranges of mountains beyond that could not be seen, but now need to be climbed.

    George Bush went to college.

So did Joe Biden, and Debbie Blabbermouth Schwartz.

    Case closed.

You want an education ? Go to the library. Before the democrats burn all the books they don't like.

Hitler did not go to college
Stalin did not go to college
Mao did not go to college
Idi Amin did not go to college
Papa Doc Duvalier did not go to college

Ignorance costs much more than education.
