To the Calvinists and Arminians here: what are the best books/resources for your position? What are the best books/resources refuting the other side?

And no smarty-pants answers like "The Bible" either. [IMG]

    For Southern Baptists I recommend:

Manual of Theology by John L. Dagg

By His Grace and For His Glory by Dr. Tom Nettles

Baptists and the Bible by L. Russ Bush, Tom J. Nettles

Baptist Confessions, Covenants, and Catechisms (Library of Baptist Classics, Vol. 11)by John A. Broadus, Timothy George, Denise George

Has Our Theology Changed? : Southern Baptist Thought Since 1845 by Paul A. Basden

I would also recommend a great Article on Particular Redemptiom. This article on Limited Atonement by Phil Johnson (And his view is essentially mine) shows that on the subject of Limited Atonement that 5 point Calvinists (Not the 4 or 4.5 pointers) define Limited Atonement in differant ways.

From what I read he essential shows there are at least 3 camps in Calvinism when it comes to explaining the doctrine of Limited or Particular Redemption. Essentially (And this is my grouping not his) there are at least 2 camps of Calvinists when it comes to explaing Limited Atonement from what I read.

    1. Efficient and Sufficient For Only the Elect - John Owen, John Gill, Tom Nettles, J. I. Packer

    2. Efficient For All but Sufficient For Only the Elect - John Calvin, Canons of Dort, A.A. Hodge, R.B. Kuiper

I thought the article was fascinating in getting a better understanding of the Calvinist doctrine of Limited Atonement that is often distorted.

Here is the article at at http://www.biblebb.com/files/MAC/SC03-1027.htm

Well, I'm Primitive Baptist, and though we do adhere to the Doctrines of Grace, we are hardly Calvinists in that sense of the title.

Anyway, here are some Primitive Baptist sites you might want to visit:

    Primitive Baptist Writings

    Primitive Baptist Online
