Has anyone ever heard of the Revival Fires paper with Dr. Dennis Corle? If so what do you think about it and/or him?

    Cline

I've read it. It is your basic IFB paper,(soul-winning, women don't wear pants, tithing, etc.) I also heard Corle preach a few years ago, I didn't like his "preaching".......he is very arrogant. Your typical Hyles type preacher. :(

I used to have a subscription to Revival Fires. My sister goes to Hyles-Anderson and Dr. Hyles bought subscriptions for everybody and she sent me one. It has it's interesting parts but I prefer Sword of The Lord over it.

For a guy who touts family values it sure seems strange to me how proud he is of all the traveling that he does...away from the family and in the deer stand!
    Money better spent else where!

Use it regularly . . . for lining a bird cage.

I'd be embarrassed if my parrot could read.

I can also add: holy living, separation, local church, KJV, world-wide missions, youth ministry, family oriented, and doctrinally sound. That's why I order it in bulk to make available to my church folks. Brother Corle is a good friend. He has a great ministry. Any preacher can benefit from the messages he publishes each month.

    Dr. Bob:
I'd like to schedule your bird for a meeting. If he has the sense enough to read a good paper, he's my kind of bird. [IMG]

Very conceited attitude and overly strict! Its ad about Jack Hyles was a large picture in Revival Fires paper. I can't recall that this Revival Fires paper stated a position or denied the truth about Hyles' sexual sins -- adultery with a woman named Jennie Nischik. I know this paper continued to support him.

The paper is very sound doctrine wise.
He is a good man & practices what he preaches.
I took his Hebrews class in College and must say it was the most informative class I ever took.
His wife and daughters are very nice.
Please keep your attacks to his paper & not to him personally if you don't know him! I'm sure that is what Christ would want! [IMG]

I receive Revival Fires and I enjoy it. I also like The Sword of the Lord.

I can't say I agree with everything they print, however, I do not believe everything my local newspaper prints either, but I still read it.

I have never even heard of this publication. Do they have a website, per chance, to where I can check them out for myself and decide?

There is not enough at these web sights to make a judgement. Nowhere did I find a statement of faith, or, "What we believe."
I am curious about Dr. Bob's reaction and I hope that he and others will comment on pro's and con's in more detail.

Revival Fires raised the hackles (whatever they are) on me. They seem "hyper" on areas in which I have issues:

Hyper legalism in the guise of standards, with implication that a person is holy if he/she has a certain dress code, conduct code.

Hyper soul winning (1-2-3-pray-after-me) pressure to get big numbers, which sadly leads to millions of people with a false assurance of a salvation they do not have.

Hyper my crowd only (must believe like I do) and we'll promote your book or meeting

Hyper KJVO which is a sick sect parodying true historic ifb

Others might add to the list. I looked through an issue some time back (I've been removed from their mail list for 7-8 years) and saw pix of a pompous, overweight preacher telling everyone how to live. And another pix. And another.

Then I realized the type of people who were printing this nonsense. Remember, I'm a recovering Pharisee so I recognize my kin . .
