What an outrageous comment. It is "Phelpish" to hold up a sign with scripture on it? You are in favor of a pastor who promotes witchcraft and opposed to Christians who promote scripture?

You sound like you agree with the Phelps clan. Wow. I'm opposed to that style of "preaching" in general. I would rather do it the way Jesus did it.

That was a misquote from myself on the salvation thing, you said you knew the King. My apology, I trully did not mean that.

What quote. The quote I put was a direct requote of what you stated, by power of the BB "reply" button. You might have mistyped something, but I nor the BB "reply" button mistyped.

My apologies to those the report was given to, it was a bad choice of words and was not meant in the least.

This thread is really sad, IMO it would be best for nobody to reply anymore. There is nothing being gained here, and minds are not being changed. Let this thread die.

    Interesting...

Could you point me to the chapter and verse that encourages you to call a brother in Christ names? Thank you.

Hey! Thanks for the plug. (although I do think your picture is too big).

Bro. Michael Carnes. In our town of 16,000, not counting the tourists that come during the summer, most knew Michael as a resident Meth dealer and maker. After numerous run-ins with the law and finally incarceration in federal prison, Bro. Carnes was glorious saved, by reading his Bible alone in his cell one night (the book of John to be exact). In our small town, most know of Michael and can clearly see his testimony and the testimony of Christ's amazing saving grace. Amen for a brother willing to stand for the Lord! (not to mention he has read his Bible through 16 times now in 4 years, how many have ever even read their Bible through once? twice? three times?).

Now see, I won't report you for the personal attack on my church, Im not that way. I got too much hair on my chest for all that sniveling and whining.

I just wanted to echo that this thread should probably be closed.

I didn't mean to come back and post after I said I would take the advice of someone wiser than myself to stop debating. Let's close it before we continue to grumble towards one another.

    Bro. Williams...

I'm all for vigorous debate. But I have two quite significant problems with your post:
    • I read my Bible, and I have a feeling that most people do. It's possible to not have hatred in one's heart for RW and still read and believe the Bible. I don't appreciate the insinuation made...not to mention, that it's quite the overgeneralization: inflammatory, unprovable, and a hindrance to productive dialogue.
    • "Rebuking and reproving" does not give us the right to call names. RW is someone's pastor. My cousin lost her two day-old baby. Her husband is not a believer (she became one just a couple of years ago). RW came to see their family, prayed with them, and checked up on them. I'm sure he's screwed up on occasion, just like you and me. But he is a man of God, and you have no right to use perjoratives against him. I've asked you not to a few times, and this has been ignored. Keep in mind: you are slandering another person's pastor...one who was instrumental in leading a family member of mine to Christ. Your speech in this matter is not God-honoring.
I have no problem with this subject being debated. I've skimmed the subject matter, and several of you with whom I disagree have managed to deal with the OP subject, and have avoided character assassination, lies, and gossip. Even if we disagree, thanks to those of you who have stayed above board on this.

To those who haven't: please re-read my post and think about it.

I listed a whole list of references a couple of pages back. Call a spade a spade, a wolf a wolf.

I am somewhat familiar with Bro. Williams and I'm quite familiar with the preaching of his pastor, for Mark Lawless fed me the Word of God during a time I was famished. That church having people on the street with signs containing the words of God is something that Christians should see and rejoice, not criticize and call "Phelpish". I can understand the world being opposed to it, but I certainly don't comprehend a Christian being opposed.

First point. If I am not referencing you, then I am not referencing you. Some do, some don't. Most Christians do not read their Bible on a regular basis. That is the plain truth.

Second point: Reproving and rebuking does give the right to call someone out. I can give proof where Paul calls men out point blank by name, where is your scripture? I have called him nothing more than a Slick, snake skiined, sheep wearing wolf, nothing more.

Truth is truth, like it or lump it. He is leaven to the church.

How about, stop grumbling and stand with the Biblical position of opposing witchcraft?

I don't think he's proud of any man for he hates them all. However, I'm sure it pleases him to have "Christian leadership" promoting works of the flesh.

Is this because you have made your points and now you wish to no longer discuss this topic?

What data would you point to to suggest the sustaining, changing or newly created world views of the individuals that have read this thread? Even if one sustains, changes or creates their world view from this thread, what data would you have to suggest that there might or might not be a change at a latter date as a result of this conversation?
