    Romans 7:1-6 demonstrates we are dead to the Law due to the dead body of Jesus Christ. Hence, a lost man cannot be justified by law keeping but only condemned due to the weakness of the flesh not because of the weakness of the law (Rom. 7:7-13) and neither can the justified man be sanctified by the law not due to the weakness of the law but the weakness of the flesh or carnal nature (Rom. 7:14-25). Hence, justification is by the work of Christ (Rom. 8:1-3) and sanctificatoin is by the work of the Spirit (Rom. 8:9-13) and both are by faith.

    In Romans 3-6 we are freed from sin legally by justification and we are freed from sin spiritually be regeneration. However, we have not been freed from sin "in the flesh" but the "flesh" is still "under sin" condemned to death (Rom. 7:14) because we are "carnal" in regard to "this body of death" and the "law of sin" that still operates in our flesh and death proves it.
