True, but God commands us who believe in Him to unity. But since I am overwhelmingly convinced that your doctrine is wrong, and Since I am sold out to Jesus, the only conclusion I can draw it that your doctrine is not biblical! </font>[/QUOTE]If your philosophy is one of unity, why are you on this board telling me I'm wrong? Isn't that spreading disunity?

Especially since it is a "non essential" ;)

If it is a non-essential why is it the mainstay of the Southern Baptist denomination? I haven't been in a Southern baptist church, and I've been in 23 of them in my lifetime as a regular attender for more than a month, where is wasn't an absolute part of that church's teachings.

Seems like you are rebelling against alot of good churchs Wes....

Why don't you go to a Wesleyian church where you can 'fit in' ? ...

Again rc, you missjudge me. I have traveled extensively in my life, and in my travels I attend what ever church I choose to attend. It is not a matter of rebellion, it is a matter of convenience.

You'd do well to stop judging!

This was tongue in cheek Wes ... calm down..

I don't think a requirement of going to one church over another is "convenience" though... I would travel 180 miles to go to a reformed church over some Pentecostal one a mile away...

To each his own! My God is present wherever those who believe in Him are gathered! That's another thing you would do well to remember!

Yes, there are plenty of places with ignorant stagnant non productive people that will listen to any false doctrine and won't even know it.

KJV Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

If people knew doctrine, most churchs today would be empty..... Not Piper's church though...

He's getting to Chapter 13 soon... it took 5.5 years to get through 1-12... THAT's taking God's word seriously.

It's a good thing that God doesn't defer to PIPER!

It's a sad thing that such few Pastors like Piper defer to God.

What is sad is that he is so deceived.
