This may have been previously posted so please ignore is so. I had a thought about Romeny possibly winning the election. If so, as Christians we always want our Prez to lean on God and draw strength from Him.

So when Pres Romney enters the office and begins each morning in prayer to his god, what will this mean. Who really is the Mormon god? It isn't the God of Christianity. Is it Satan or will his prayers just fly out into oblivion without regard to any god?

Now I'm not saying this to turn anyone away from voting for Romney for I probably will. It will be better to have a man in the WhiteHouse who thinks he's a Christian than one who fakes being a Christian, and may possibly be a closet Muslim. IMO

Not really sure why that would be better.

I think it's a very dangerous thing for this country to have its leader praying to a false god every day.

Because if Barack Obama is a Muslim or is unsaved, then he has already been praying to a false god everyday. And we see what type of judgment the country is already falling under. Why would that change just because a new unsaved person takes the reigns?

    Wicked is wicked.

Kinda odd to think that having a man whose everything is steeped in deception is better than a man who you believe is steeped in deception.

I believe he prays to a false god, and that would be a manifestation of the devil (think of him disguising himself as an angel of light).

The early Church did not live under Christian political leaders. The Bible does have a lot to tell us on how we should live in our submission to, and prayers for, the leaders God has placed over us. Romans 13 and 1 Peter come to my mind quickly on this.

Should we prefer a Christian leader? Yes. Should we try to vote for the Christian leader? I think so. If we do not have that option what then? I will leave that between you and God. Myself, I intend to vote for the one that will allow for the most free expression of our faith and the spread of the Gospel. I believe we should look to the morality of the man, his overall character, and not mistake morality for righteousness.

1Ti 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,
1Ti 2:2 for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
1Ti 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
1Ti 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (NASB)

In the end, I also remember that God indeed is the one who places people in authority. He is sovereign and His will is perfect. I trust Him even if I do not like or understand what He is doing at times.

Well, I don't think the current president is praying to the real God either because of what he's said about God. So it really won't make much of a difference.

As morality is measured by the perfect standard that is Christ, you have disqualified Romney.

On earth, the degree to which a nation aligns itself with the law of God will the degree that God will reward it, false notions and superstitions notwithstanding.

Again, do not confuse moral with righteous and no one is demanding perfection.

If Christ is your standard you should never vote, and therefore have no basis for complaining about a candidate or how people vote.

I didn't confuse them. You appear to be trying to drive a wedge between them so as to qualify Romney as moral.

Morality is based in the TRUTH. And Romney's foundation is based in untruth.

Why would I never vote if Christ is my standard?

You are the one demanding perfection from men, not me. Since that is an impossibility then you have no one to vote for, and therefore should not vote. Otherwise you are a hypocrite.

To an extent there is a difference between being immoral and being a sinner.

As for me, I got errands to run so I'll leave you to enjoy your little game.

You haven't seen me demand perfection from anyone. But that's a nice try as you look to justify that vote.

Again, where and how have you concluded that I can't vote unless the candidate is perfect? That's some fairy tale you've created.

Nope. Morality is based upon the same standard of truth as is sin.

How does one "meet the perfect standard that is Christ" without being perfect?

Romney's Christ Jesus is a biological twin to Romney's Satan. Romney's god is not a Trinity.

The Muslim Allah is more like our God than Romney's god is.

Got me. I didn't say anyone had to meet a perfect standard. But being indwelled by Christ should help.

You posted - "As morality is measured by the perfect standard that is Christ, you have disqualified Romney"

    Ring a bell?

So how does any candidate meet the perfect standard that is Christ?
