"Bombing Iranian nuclear sites, as some suggest, is a fantasy, he [Gingrich] said."

"He suggested serious economic steps, serious political and psychological and diplomatic steps, including an embargo on imported gasoline." - LINK

    EHHH!!! Wrong again, roger...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrAVr6XXtbg

He favors covert attacks, including, "taking out their scientists, breaking up their systems..."

    http://warincontext.org/2011/12/10/...k-iran-calls-palestinians-an-invented-people/

Even if he does impose sanctions....great, maybe we can kill 300,000 Iranian civilians the way we did the Iraqi civilians, over them "maybe sometime in the future" getting a weapon, and then "Maybe sometime after that using it..."

    Absurd.

Ok let me see, according to you sanctions are off the table, covert action (read STUXNET) is off the table. Doesn't leave much does it. Sounds just like our current strategy.

    Absurd.

Ah, finally, the REAL REASON we need to go to war with Iran, it's for ISRAEL of course.

It's the REAL REASON we went to war with Iraq, it was for ISRAEL of course.

How many nukes do you reckon Israel has? No one knows for certain:

Israel is now the only state with nuclear weapons that does not admit to having such weapons. It has always refused to allow international inspection of the Dimona facility, and is among the few states that have refused to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.”

The estimates of Israel's nuclear arsenal runs between 200-400 warheads, enough to glassify Iran if the Israelis wanted to. You think the Iranians don't realize that? You think the Iranians are incapable of grasping the concept of M.A.D.? I assure you that they're well aware of the capabilities of a mad dog Israel.

Israel is perfectly capable of fending for itself.

Absolutely Paul is right. The very same sort of disinformation that propelled us into the Iraq War debacle is now being used to send us into Iran.

It's really really goofy for 'these people' to fall for it again.

Don't make the mistake of confusing everyday normal people with the abnormal dispie neocons here on this board. Any candidate that is not serious about getting on with the business of bringing about Armageddon will never be acceptable to them. That's the REAL REASON that they abhor and slander one like Ron Paul. Israel is no different than any other nation to Paul; it's all about Israel to the dispies.

    Jmho of course

Actually, its NOT our current strategy. Our current strategy is micro-managing other countries, having tens of thousands of troops in the middle east, telling Israel what she can and can't do, etc.

We need to go, "Israel, if you feel like you need to handle it, you take care of it. We're going home before we go broke."

You are not honestly comparing Iran to Germany? Because that would make you lose any credibility. Iran is a guy with a slingshot, compared with Germany...

I am honestly comparing Iran to a country that in 1918 that had no national army - only local militia- usually less than 100 men per unit. And this county was forbidden to have more than 100,000 men in their Armed Forces.

HD, just curious as to what your military experience has been.

Our current strategy has been, as Obama said, to "lead from behind". The US had nothing to do with the uprisings in Egypt or Syria. The Administration took a totally hands-off approach to the riots in Iran. Obama may try to tell Israel what they can/cannot do but they're not buying it.

As for the "tens of thousands of US troops in the Middle-East", well when the last of them leave Iraq there will be very few US troops on the ground in the M-E. A few thousand in Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE and Qatar. That's hardly enough to micromanage the region. Imagination runs wild when unchecked.

"Fear in the Middle East over Iran's nuclear ambitions is widespread and real...It's not just an issue for Israel, the fear in the Gulf countries, the fear in North Africa, the Middle East about Iran is palpable."

    Europe :: Liechtenstein

Nothing to do w/ the Saudis.

    Please, enlighten me.

I mean, for real, show me where the Saudis or any other entity has anything to compare with AIPAC's influence in our federal government.

I don't get where you're coming from at all.

You keep singling out Iran as if they would be going it alone. Russia helped them to get to where they are in regards to nukes, and they have a stake in also wanting Israel gone (oil ports). You don't think for a minute they wouldn't aid Iran in a nuclear attack?
