From some notes I had from a former pastor:

    ROYAL FAMILY HONOR CODE

    1. The Royal Family Honor Code binds the strong & the weak believer together in a mutual system of advancing to maturity.

    a. We are bound together in the Body of Christ which is a synonym of “The Royal Family”

    b. We are bound together in order to advance to maturity and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.

    c. This overshadows the differences of opinions between us in the area of non-essentials.

    2. While tolerance to application is a function of the Honor Code, apathy or indifference to true Doctrine & inaccurate doctrine is not to be tolerated.

    3. There may be a difference of application of Doctrine because of different stages of Christian Growth, but there is one Body of Essential Doctrine where variance becomes error & mis-interpretation becomes apostasy.

    4. Our honor code demands rigid, inflexible adherence to the Essential Doctrines taught from God’s word.

    a. Variation in application does not permit or give consent to variation of these essential truths.

    b. That is Salvation, Grace and Christ return.

    5. Learn to distinguish between Absolute Doctrine and the variation of application.

    a. When you learn an Absolute Doctrine together with the application it is not always the same.

    b. A mature believer will have accurate application

    c. But should be tolerant of the weak believer’s inaccurate application.

    d. This gives the weak believer the same opportunity of learning as the mature believer has had so that eventually Spiritual Fuel from will correct the application.

    6. However, when a person is not consistent the soul standards cannot be changed and there will be no spiritual advance.

    7. Variations of growth and different stages of ignorance do not change the Absolute Truth of God’s word.

    a. Two believers can believe in the Absolutes such as:

    1. The Deity of Christ,

    2. Eternal security,

    3. Attributes of God,

    4. Baptism of the Holy Spirit

    b. But differ in their attitude toward:

    1. Working on Sunday,

    2. Church Membership,

    3. The applications of the ordinances

    c. In the Body of Christ we may differ but we are bound together by spiritual Fuel Residing in our soul.

    d. The Strong are to tolerate the weak & the weak are not to judge the Strong.

Honestly, when love is shown, and the stronger truly in love consider the genuine conscience of the weaker brothers, there is no need for the "Royal Code."

The more I read this, concerning doctrine (typically here it is surrounding the mode of salvation) that pointing out grave error is only 'differing opinions' the more convinced I am that many are merely post modernists in ideology without realizing it.

As Dr. Steven Lawson aptly stated 'Give us some men who know the truth'! And, may I add, men who don't compromise doctrine while casually calling it 'differing opinions' just as a post modernist would term it.

Where exactly does the Bible say that there are essential and non-essential doctrines?

And where does it say that "non-essentials" are not that important?

This is a bunch of garbage written by Robert R. Mclaughlin, a follower of R.B. Thieme and his Berachah cult.

For a good examination of Thieme's faulty theology read What's Wrong With the Teaching of R. B. Thieme, Jr.? by Dr. Stewart Custer, Greenville, SC: Bob Jones University Press, 1972.

    If you can find it I would also recommend “Colonel Thieme Again,” John R. Rice, The Sword of the Lord (Oct 20, 1972), p. 5;

And Robert G. Walter, “The False Themes of Pastor Thieme!” The Baptist Bulletin (Oct
    1972);

Never heard of either of those two, McLaughlin nor Thieme but an immediate red flag popped up reading the OP.

Thieme was a DTS grad who pastored Berachah Church in Houston for over 50 years. Most of the "doctrine" he taught was made up on the spot. Dr. John F. Walvoord, previous President of DTS, had some uncomplimentary things to say about Thieme.

When Thieme was called to be pastor Berachah Church the first thing he did was fire the board of trustees. Then he fired all the deacons. Then he fired all the pastoral staff. He became an absolute dictator.

He stopped baptizing new converts because he disliked touching the "lesser" people, those who had not achieved his exalted stature (in his own mind).

Thieme argued that in His humanity Jesus was peccable (able to sin). DTS denied him his doctorate because of that and many other doctrinal errors not the least of which was his failure to complete his dissertation.

    ABOUT THIEME MINISTRIES
Salvation is the grace gift of God to man, received by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16). No one ever earns or deserves anything from God. But in His infinite love and grace, God freely provides everything for us to have an eternal relationship with Him.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that [salvation] not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. (Ephesians 2:8–9)

God’s plan of “grace and truth is realized through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17), the uniquely born Son of God. Jesus Christ became true humanity to be our substitute and pay the penalty for our sins. When our Lord Jesus Christ was on the cross, He was judged for the sins of the world. Every sin that has ever been committed in the history of the human race was imputed to Him on the cross and judged.

He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross. (1 Peter 2:24a)

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf [as our substitute], that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Because of the work of Jesus Christ, salvation is available to everyone.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten [uniquely born] Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved.” (Acts 16:31a)

Believing in Christ means you accept as true the fact that He died as your personal substitute. In the moment you believe, God gives you eternal life and guarantees your salvation. Instantly, you are brought into an eternal relationship with God forever.

Your attitude toward Jesus Christ determines your eternal future. You can either believe in Christ for eternal life or reject Him for eternal condemnation.

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey [believe] the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36)

ROBERT B. THIEME, JR. (1918–2009) remains a significant voice of Christianity throughout the world. His diligent, expository teaching is based on the original languages of Scripture in light of the historical context in which the Bible was written. His innovative systems of vocabulary, illustrations, and biblical categories clearly communicate the infallible truths of God’s Word. Thieme recorded more than eleven thousand hours of sermons and published more than one hundred books covering much of the Bible.

Thieme graduated from the University of Arizona (Phi Beta Kappa) and Dallas Theological Seminary (summa cum laude). His seminary studies were interrupted by World War II military service during which he rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army Air Corps. After completion of his graduate work in 1950, he became pastor of Berachah Church in Houston, Texas. His extensive training in Greek, Hebrew, theology, history, and textual criticism provided the foundation for his demanding professional life of studying and teaching the Word of God. Thieme retired as pastor of Berachah Church after fifty-three years of faithful service.

    R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries, founded in 1967 as Berachah Tapes and Publications, was incorporated in 1982 under its present name. R. B. The unique focus of R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries concentrates on procedures for living the Christian way of life. Thieme has not taken lightly the Lord’s command, “Feed my sheep.” Pastor R. B. Thieme, Jr., has recorded thousands of hours of sermons and has published over one hundred books on subjects such as salvation, spirituality, the Christian life, the essence of God, biblical history, and prophecy.

    R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries provides MP3 CD audio recordings of Bible classes taught by Pastor Thieme from 1959 to 2002, and DVD video recordings of Bible classes taught from 1986 to 2002. Books and book recordings, based on these teachings, are also available. Information is provided on Bible study groups that meet regularly throughout the country to study via Pastor Thieme’s audio or video recordings. A radio series which includes over two hundred 30-minute lessons on general biblical subjects is broadcast on stations in various areas of the United States, the Philippines, and Puerto Rico. Translations of some books have been made into foreign languages such as Spanish, Chinese, German, and Thai.

Chuck Swindoll (born 1934) is a 1963 graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). (Swindoll does not have a college undergraduate degree; he was admitted to DTS in 1959 as a "special student" through the influence of R.B. Thieme, Jr.)

Not a fan of Swindoll either although he is a very popular speaker. His Grace Awakening comes across as license to sin and propagates the influences of FGT that no matter what you do, if you made a decision you're still going to heaven.

I don't buy that because it's not Biblical.

mwc, for a person who talks insolently of not needing men to teach you, apparently you endorse several men. Of those you've endorsed it kind of paints the picture as to why you hold to several theological errors.

Let's see. Your favorite guru minimizes and ridicules the blood of Christ.

Described as "a cult figure" by James Dunn, the executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee on Public Affairs.

Taught Grace Apparatus of Perception. This teaching asserts that the believer has a capacity, immediately on receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit, for discernment of Biblical truth. This idea contradicts both the TIME and SOVEREIGNTY elements of genuine spiritual growth. The concept led to a lot of contention in his followers, as respect for elder authority was undermined and thoroughly dispelled.

Taught RIGHT MAN, RIGHT WOMAN. Thieme taught that for every man there is an absolutely right woman, and that if you don't follow God's direction and marry the "right" woman, then you are in for a lot of misery. You can imagine what that does to a congregation. Sadly, divorce was not discouraged and families were split as spiritual bullies attempted to assert themselves in the lives of couples growing at different rates.

From that concept, (taught, by the way, as a study on the Song of Solomon), came RIGHT CHURCH, RIGHT PASTOR. He taught that if you did not have a local pastor teaching the same principles as he, then he became your pastor and you went on worldwide program of "tape cells"—weekly gatherings for the purpose of listening to Bob’s recorded messages.

Maintained a 20+ year affair while he was "teaching"?

Forced his son on the church as their pastor at the time of his retirement even though his son had been divorced and remarried 3 times.

Taught that confession was a license to sin. "Rebound", at its core, is a completely false notion. "Rebound and keep moving" gave thousands of Berachans free reign to have affairs and sin with wild abandon. Confess it in the morning, get back in the club, and move on.

Ma de up the doctrines of Super Grace and Ultra Super Grace. They are not in the word of God. They were extrapolated by Thieme so he could set himself above the crowd.

Did not believe in nor practice believers baptism. Wouldn't baptize new converts.

Don't be a man follower! Be a Christ follower!

Have you been to Baracha? If not then aren't you using here say and inuindos against a man you haven't studied or heard from the pulpit? I have studied and my Dad took us there when I was very young. I also have read much of his works and while the early writings were fairly good the later works tended to be off the wall. However posting his bio and the information on him is from his ministry website to show what his background was for those who hadn't heard of him. I don't endorse him but can take parts of his teaching and leave other parts. Just like other men's writtings, because not one man on this earth has all the truth some of what they believe is their ownology.

I didn't endorse anyone. And if you would go back and read what I wrote you might notice I explained who he is, "the executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee on Public Affairs."
