I don't know if you guys heard the news or not, but I will give you the low down and then throw out my question. Someone else may have more detail or provide it, I don't. 36 year old pastor of the First Methodist Church of Royse City, TX was arrested and brought up on charges all stemming from his dealing with Child Pornography, the majority of which was involving girls under the age of 10 and several of those were infants. Which he has admitted guilt to the charges. Anyhow, he is arrested. I have other opinions just from hearing the news concerning this pastor. But on the 6 o'clock news members from his congregation were outside the hearing proceedings, there to "support him" and "love him", he is their pastor and they want him to know that they will support him no matter what. Does he really need this kind of support from the church? Should they really be outside in the public eye expressing their affections for this man considering the circumstances, especially declaring "no matter what he has done, we support him". Why not just stay at home and pray for him and his family. And what about their church, the church needs prayer, imagine the trust that is broken here? And what about Christianity as a whole unit, do you think what has occurred will draw more non-believers to the Body of Christ? Would they be as supportive of this man if it was their children he had pictures of?
