I don't know if you can ask that unless you've established that it was wrong.

To Osama, I would say pretty much the same thing, except that in this case, defeating the Soviets was even more important.

We knew the kind of murderous tyrant Hussein was when we sent him money and munitions. There the situation may differ from Osama.

Was it right or wrong to give money and arms to a man who we knew was killling the Kurdish minority?

So, he is a cold blooded murderer? Really, this thread has nothing to do with America. I just want to know if you think he is a murderer. Or is he misunderstood? When he was torturing and murdering his own people, was there any chance that he didn't know what he was doing? Was he confused by life experiences? Is there any chance this wasn't his fault?

He is a cold-blooded murderer. In many respects there is no difference between him and the two goth goons who gunned down their classmates at Columbine, the only difference being one of scale and power to murder. Sure, they were all probably neglected by their moms and beaten by their dads when they were little, but that is no excuse for murder.

If an American or British soldier were to find Saddam and he wasn't going to go without a fight, should they or should they not put a bullet through his head? Would anyone here lose any sleep if Saddam were killed? Did anyone lose any sleep when his two sons were killed? To tell the truth, I didn't and wouldn't. Truthfully, I was somewhat relieved as I will be when Saddam gets his. Does anyone here feel sorry for Saddam? How about Adolf? Is there anyone who has done anything so bad that you say to yourself when they are killed for their crimes, "Hey, they got exactly what was coming to them."?

If he wasn't going to go without a fight, then yes, he should be shot - there is self-defence you know....But if he'd peaceably surrendered, tempting as it would be, he should not be shot -otherwise the person who did that would be stooping to Saddam's level by murdering him in cold blood.

And Hitler - definitely no sympathy for him

I think the real question here is what would Jesus think of this man.

I think Jesus would say, "Yes he is a sinner, so what, you all are. But that is not what I'm here for, it is not time to judge yet. Conviction has already occured and I'm here to give all of you a chance to save yourselves from your sin, so receive me and go and sin no more."

In God's eyes, Saddam is no worse in his sins that we are, and with the same choice to turn from them before our own death. We all have been convicted and found guilty. We just happen to be all standing around before the sentencing phase, pointing at each other saying "But his sins are worse than mine". Hey, folks either you have been forgiven or not. Period.

I don't think Saddam will turn in time and he will get the same punishment as Albert Einstien and billions of other people who have died in their sins.
