Well I never argued that Rick had a winner going with this statement. I think that 30 years ago there would have been a majority agree that more restriction of internet porn (if they knew what the internet was) was the right thing to do. Not anymore. You're example of the push/pull over legalizing pot is representative. There is no consensus anymore. There are just too many people now pulling that cat out of the bag, in too many ways, to squeeze it back in.

You can't wipe out shoplifting; Does that mean it shouldn't be illegal? I don't think so.

Pornography is destructive to people's lives. If Santorum can figure a way to limit it he has my support. I doubt that our anti-democratic court system will go for that though.

I am all for limiting something like that, even if we cannot stop it. He is refreshing, and a huge contrast to his opponent for the nomination in the area of morality.

It's just like Santorum to worry about issues like this instead of the important things like our economy.

Nevermind we'll have to increase the size and scope of government (again) and go deeper into debt to a private banking cartel (again) to satisfy a few people's urge to limit someone elses freedom.

On the plus side now that fourth and fifth amendment protections have been eradicated due to the phoney "war on terror" it'll make it that much easier for the government to snoop on all of us to see if we're visiting porn sites.

And what should the punishment be for a "porner" or a suspected "porner"? (remember now the government needs no evidence or to make charges or bring indictments against you to haul you off to prison indefinitely these days) An indefinite prison sentence? That'll make the prison privateers happy and rich! And their lobbyists in DC will make a bunch of money, and the politicians posing as conservatives will get a few more votes and a slap on the back and the police will get more authoritarian powers and high tech toys. And who will pay for it all in money and freedom? You and me.

    Yeah, another fine "conservative" idea.

I refer you to existing state laws. Perhaps: " imprisonment for one to five years or jail for up to 12 months and a fine of up to $2,500, either or both." for starters.

BTW: I have no use for libertarian nonsense. People have a right to establish laws regarding moral behaviour. And no, that is not the same as mixing Church and state.

Libertarian nosense? No sir, common sense. Something conservatives threw out the window a long time ago, evidently. Like I said this will only increase the size and scope of government, cause more debt, and limit our ever shrinking civil liberties, if that's even possible in this day and age of arrest and detention without charge or trial and state sanctioned assassinations.

Why not just say what you mean? You want more big brother intrusive government meddling in other's private affairs no matter the cost in treasure and liberty. Because it'll make you "feel" better.

I got a better idea. Why not go after some real criminals for a change? Like the global bankers and corporitos that have caused more death and destruction in the last 50 years than all the "porners" put together in the last thousand years.

Santorum is one of those career politicians that the elite employ from time to time because he does their bidding. Like in this here case. He's starting a debate about some small "problem" to keep you from looking into the larger crimes taking place everyday by the criminal class he serves.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Bigger more intrusive government isn't the answer. We've tried that and it causes more problems than it solves. And this country can't afford any more problems.

Looks like we sort of argee on this one Robert. I would expand that to all the candidates save one are guilty of the same thing. Most of em are more interested in playing with toys and trying desperately to keep the people's minds off the real crimes taking place and the crooks they hope to keep serving. And from the sounds of it people are still falling for it hook line and sinker.

What is the difference between nude art and porn? Medical illustrations and porn? I propose that porn has an animated format.
