    Goodness gracious.

I just watched the overnight reply. (I work nights and couldnt watch live)

Stunning. Spectacular. What a presence she has. A pure natural.

And if anyone had any doubt of her qualifications, I think she made it pretty clear that her executive experience is very impressive.

This makes things very interesting indeed

I didn't get to see anything yet, I guess I'll be watching clips in the morning. Whats funny abut the expereince this is, dems think she needs more expereince as VP then they expect obama to have as president.

I watched it live and then read it this morning. She was incredible.

When it comes to music I have always said that good song says the things I say but a great song says the things I feel but was unable to put into words until I heard someone else say them.

I think the same goes for that speech last night. Sarah Palin said things that I could only feel but did not have the eloquence to express until I heard her do it.

She was amazing and I think she showed that she's not just some podunk politician who has no clue. What is so nice is that she's not jaded by the politics the way they are. She's not a "good old boy" as she said and she's willing to take the route that is right but might not be politically correct. She was really great.

I didn't hear her say anything about wages going down and the cost of living going up though. I wonder how her and McCain will tackle this issue. I didn't hear her say anything about unemployment being the highest ever in history either. She never really said anything of substance. She was easy to look at and admirable mom but, she isn't say anything of any real value to the shape this country is in or how she could help fix it. From what I saw her only focus was on cutting Obama down, not how to fix the country. She makes a good motovational speaker but nothing of any real substance.

Really? As high as it was in the Great Depression when it was around 15-20%? Last I saw the rate was around 5-6%. Looks like you've bought into the liberal hyperbole that this is the worst economy of all-time, blah, blah, blah.

Just what the papers are saying. They say it is the highest in history and more people out of work than ever. Wages down, cost of living up. I can see this with my own eyes.

So, is this country in good shape? The economy isn't messed up? Why are we adding a 13 week extention to unemployment benefits?

While the economy is in a typical adjustment it isn't messed up. The economy grew 3.3% in the last quarter. Capatalism goes through these adjustments and there is nothng anyone can do to stop them. Inflation is going back down as well as oil prices. The other day milk dropped .50 while I was reaching for it in the cooler. Apparently you must be getting your economy numbers in the same place you get your abortion numbers.

The rising cost of energy is the main problem with the economy, and Palin addressed this very well in her speech.

What do you propose that the next president do to make your life better?

    AJ

BTW, no, I dont think the economy is as messed up as the liberal media makes it out to be. They are filling gullible people with gloom and doom in an attempt to get a liberal elected this fall.

Do youself a favor and don't always take the "papers" as gospel truth.

"More people are out of work than ever" probably means that our population is a lot larger than in the 1930's, so a current 5% unemployment rate will produce "more people out of work" than a 15% rate on a smaller population. Simple math.

Americans know the tax breaks and her energy plans will lead to a better economy. The dems sure haven't done anything to help me out in their two years. I don't want to follow their failed policies from the past. Palin just might be change I can believe in.

You find the oddest things to justify your positions. Unemployment extensions are decided by congress. Currently we have a Democratic Congress who wants to expand government on all levels. That's why.

Nothing to do with the regular benefits running out before someone gets a job huh? I just signed up 2 days ago, I know why they were extended. It seems the unemployment office disagrees with you. Congress did it for a reason.

Why are you on unemployment anyway? There are plenty of jobs out there. I am a steel fitter/welder and make a modest living doing it. But recently I lost my job when the company I worked for was sold and converted into a warehouse. Did I sign up for unemployment? Not on your life. I worked with a local land maintenance company, lots of days using a shovel. I also mowed lawns for a lawn service.

Soon I had another job within my trade, but I kept working even while I looked for something better. There are help wanted signs everywhere today.

Are you too good to shovel or mow?

And since you have benefits for several months, will you wait until they are about to run out before you even look for a job?

    AJ
