Satan’s plan for the Church’s new attitude about the Bible, is to destroy souls.

This morning I ran into a flock of JW’s and as we talked we compared John 1:1 and I explained how their religion had added that “a” in that verse, to deceive them.

They proceeded to inform me how the King James Bible had made a mistake in John 1:1, by not adding the “a”; and they also said that they know what they were talking about, because they had studied the original Greek!!!
They continued by pointing out several other verses, where the King James had made mistakes. Etc.
    -----------------------------
After this encounter, I realized that a little over 100 years ago, poor lost souls like this, wouldn’t have had a leg to stand on, because there was a time, that our English Bible was universally seen as “God’s Word”.

    At that time, we could have pointed out that “This is the Bible and it is the truth”;
But the Church’s new attitude about the Bible, has given these false churches a leg to stand on, because “most Christians” would agree with them, that the Bible has mistakes.
In fact, as I have read here many times, “No translation is without errors!”
    -----------------------------
Now I am not too worried about all of this, because the Lord is in control, and this lukewarmness toward Him and His Word, has been prophesied to come to pass.

I am just Glad, that I have not been infected by it.....as yet.....

How long will we allow these unsubstantiated attacks on the Bible?

Sadly, JW is a success; the Satan's business is a success.

You call dragging people to hell a success?? You have a very strange idea of success.

askjo and stilllearning are pleased when they have a chance to advance their KJO cause. Even if it means a few lost souls to do it.

I saw no attacks on the Bible in the OP. I'm not KJVO, but I can't argue with the points SL made. I think they're valid. I've personally seen Christians doubt the Word of God because of differing translations. It is a problem.

He said "SATAN'S BUSINESS" was a success. Dragging people to Hell, for SATAN, is a success. But, you knew that.

What do you call falsely accusing a brother?

This is why I tend to stay away from this forum.

You must run with some uneducated believers. I've never met a Christian who doubts the Word of God because of differing translations. We had a new believer who had never even set foot in a church and it took about 1 minute to explain why there are multiple translations and he understands that they ALL are the Word of God. Why is it that a newborn babe in Christ can understand but those you meet cannot? It is because someone puts those doubts in their minds. Thus what MexDeaf said is absolutely true.

Thank you for insulting me and the people I "run" with. (that phrase itself is insulting)

Reading one version that contains a passage, and then picking up another version that doesn't contain that passage, listening to people argue which manuscript the Bible is translated from, hearing people say that one set of texts is better than another, listening to Christians state that no Bible is without errors, causes people to ask........."If my Bible got it wrong about including/excluding those words, what else is in there/not in there, that shouldn't/should be? How do I know if what IS in there should be or not, it's in your version, but not in mine, is that God's Word or not, so how can I trust any of it?" All the different versions cause people to doubt which one is right. That's called COMMON SENSE.

You just made stilllearning's point! Someone (satan) is putting doubt in their minds BECAUSE of all the different versions, and because of Christians saying things like “No translation is without errors!” I've even heard Christians say."We KNOW there are errors in our Bibles, we just don't know WHERE THEY ARE!" If that's true, how in Heaven's name is a person supposed to put any trust in the Word of God? :BangHead:

    Still Learning:
That's why he started the KJVO doctrine, anong other false doctrines.

It still is, only there are newer versions also so recognized, as well as older ones.

No reason you can't now, with the Geneva Bible, Bishop's Bible, KJV, NKJV, NASV, HSCV, ESV, etc.

Not only have you seen this statement;you've been shown the PROOF of its veracity, as well as the fact that many Greek or Hebrew words/phrases have multiple meanings in English, and reminded that different translators are gonna choose various meanings in their individual worx.

And He also prophesied that His Gospel would be known worldwide. For that to be true His word must be translated into CURRENT language. Remember, the same God who made Jacobean English made CURRENT English.

Well, apparently you HAVE, as you believe the false KJVO doctrine.

Can you show us ONE QUARK of SCRIPTURAL SUPPORT for KJVO? Betcha CAN'T. That fact alone makes it false; no need to rehash its salient points.

We have pointed out the origin of the current edition of KJVO-7th day adventist Dr. Ben Wilkinson's 1930 book, Our Authorized Bible Vindicated. You CANNOT show us one thing from GOD supporting this doctrine. So, apparently, you HAVE been infected; you are adding a DOCTRINE OF MAN to the doctrines of GOD, which are all found in His word, while KJVO is NOT.

    Example:
Two people are reading two different versions of the Bible. One version has a particular passage in it. The other version does not. They're comparing Scripture when one of them says, "hey, what are you reading? That's not in my Bible." They start comparing and sure enough, the passage is in one version and yet missing from the other. So, naturally they start checking that out. Then they find that some people think it is supposed to be in there, and must have been taken out from the other version. Other people say it's a mistake, and was added. OK, so naturally, they start to wonder, is that the Word of God or not? And if it isn't supposed to be in there, what else was added that isn't the Word of God? ..or........what else has been left out that is the Word of God? If they can't believe, or know for sure, that what they're reading is, or isn't, supposed to be in there, DOUBT creeps in. Simple as that. I've seen it happen.

But, yet, there are Christians who will say that they BOTH are correct, and equally the Word of God. To me, that's just impossible. One of them is right, the other is wrong. I'm not saying which one is right, only that they both cannot be.
