    After the fall of Lucifer, is satan given more power than the other fallen angels? It would seem to me that since they were all angels to begin with, they would be equally powerful. Why did satan get the title of "satan"?

    I had always thought Satan was an arch-angel, perhaps the #1 angel in heaven prior to the fall(if we can be so crude as to use such a designation)

    peace to you [IMG]

    "satan" means "accuser".

    I believe the archangels were over the other angels in terms of authority.

    Whether they had exceptional abilities is not clear, though a messenger to Daniel was held up for 21 days until Michael came to assist, so maybe the answer is yes.

    You can see some of the history of Satan in Ezekiel 28, starting with verse 11. For unless you believe that the King of Tyre was in the Garden of Eden, God is addressing Satan through Ezekiel and then through the King of Tyre, who may well have been satanically inhabited.

    "You were the model of perfection,
    full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
    You were in Eden, the garden of God;
    Every precious stone adorned you:
    ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl.
    Your settings and mountings were made of gold;
    on the day you were created they were prepared.
    You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you.
    You were on the holy mount of God;
    you walked among the fiery stones.
    You were blameless in your ways
    from the day your were created till wickedness was found in you."

    and it keeps going.

    Which has led me, personally, to wonder if Eve listened to Satan because he was originally the guardian cherub of Eden and she was trusting him as that.
