LOL, he's got a point. We intelligent people should be the only ones allowed to vote, LOL! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Wonder what he would say if he knew about the illegal or dead voters, LOL. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

He's got a point. That is the reason why they haven't figured out how to get a democracy going and why there is such trouble there.

Neil Boortz alluded to the same point yesterday on the radio. I nearly fell out of my chair when he said it.

If we allowed only intelligent people to vote, then no one would vote

Here's a thought: The average person considers him/herself to be of above average intelligence. But if the average person is of above average intelligence, doesn't that make above average intelligence average?

In a sense, it is. The score needed to get a 100 on an IQ test has been rising over the last few decades.

No one knows why for sure, but Sesame Street and similar early childhood programming might have something to do with it.

I know some excellent reasons to hammer the US voting system, but 1 man 1 vote isn't one of them.

I would be sure to ask a muslim saudi cleric for advice on a democracy or republic.

Actually this highlights one of the problems with trying to make a western style democracy work in every part of the world. There is a different mindset in countries which have Islamic origns as opposed to those with Christian origins.

What does he suggest...cutting off peoples' limbs who don't follow the leader, like they do in Saudi Arabia?

It turns out that I agree with his point, to a degree. But, a Saudi Cleric's time would be better spent with his head in a bucket of sand, where it belongs, than lecturing us about how to run a country.

There is a grain of truth in the idea that some people don't deserve the right to vote, but how do you decide who? Just imagine who would be running our country if we went back to our old standards of who votes, white male land owners.

Many men predicted the downfall of our nation when women were given the right to vote. I read an old article about that once that said women were incapable of dealing with the issues and would just vote for whichever candidate was better looking. Imagine voters who just vote for the candidate with the best haircut. How did Bush do among women again?

</font>[/QUOTE]You can be sure he doesn't want one man one vote. He would probably be the first one voted out.
