    2Cor. 13;
5 Try your own selves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or know ye not as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you? unless indeed ye be reprobate. 6 But I hope that ye shall know that we are not reprobate.
7 Now we pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that ye may do that which is honorable, though we be as reprobate. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. 9 For we rejoice, when we are weak, and ye are strong: this we also pray for, even your perfecting. 10 For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not when present deal sharply, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for casting down.
    (ASV)

When I enlisted in the US Army I had a long list of rules I was expected to learn and to obey. I had, after all, signed a contract that I would submit for, at least three years to their leadership. For this reason, it was incumbent upon me to keep check on the condition, that I might cause my superiors to be pleased with my service, that I might be considered for advancement.

When a Christian, literally, devotes his or her life to the service of Jesus, there is not a contract signed with a pen and ink, rather, there is a purchase transaction that takes place. Jesus died on the cross for the purpose of giving us the opportunity to return to the Service of God. When we do this, the purchase is completed and with that purchase there is an adoption that takes place. (Romans 8)

Now, with this in mind, we need to remember our childhood. I know that when I was a small child I wanted my father to love me and I feared disappointing him. Now as Christians, we have a father that will never fail us and as members of His Family, we need to do as the opening passage suggests. We must do a Spiritual Inventory of ourselves and remain faithful.

In addition to that we must not, and I do repeat, we must not conform to this world! As members of the family we have a responsibility to help one another. When we encounter or discover a brother that is straying we must be bold enough to step forward and to help him. It does not matter that the world has fallen in love with Matt. 7:1 and ignores the rest of the book, we are no longer of the world, our home is in the Kingdom of Heaven and our Father is God, we are not to become more like the world.

I have this, nasty, according to the world, habit of confronting people when I see a possibility of helping them. As a result I find myself banned from a number of Christian Websites. I recently suggested that a particular gentleman do a Spiritual Inventory and I am now banned from one more website, calling itself Christian. It seems to me that the world is filled with people that are willing to name the name of the Christ... as long as it does not interfere with their personal wants.

I will still stand the ground I was saved on... I hope and I pray you all will.

I lived forty-five years without my Lord and the past, almost twenty-one, have been exciting and eventful. I have prayed for the gentleman that needs the Spiritual Inventory and for the Moderators to move closer to God. The rest lies in the hands of God but I do hope that more Christians will stand on the Word of God and not fall to pieces for being rejected by the people of this world. Thanks for the motion but be careful of aligning yourself with Fundamental Christian Teachers, the World doesn't like that.:praying:

You were not on those other boards to judge them. I should be careful in condemning them.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,
I'm glad to see that you have chosen to comment. For the edification of everyone else, Jim is not nor was he the subject but is indeed the friend of the offended party.

Now, Jim, I judged not BAF. Your assertion that I did is not grounded with evidence but since you are not banned, if the is any you can and certainly should copy and paste it into a post here. What I did, I did in the love of Christ. Just as I have suggested in the OP I only asked BAF to do as the scriptures call for, to do a spiritual inventory of himself!

If you will copy the post, in it's entirity, and post it here that is exactly what it will show.

For further enlightenment on this matter, Jim is a former Prof. and considers himself to be much more enlightened than myself. What is unknown to Jim, until now, is that I quit school in the Ninth Grade to join the Army so while I maxed my GED Test it can, fairly, be said that I only have an Eighth Grade Education. On the other hand, it is also accurate to say that all of my knowledge of the scriptures come from over twenty years of constant study, directed by the hand of the Holy Spirit and has not been influenced by the Nay Sayers found in colleges today.

Now, the ground work has been put in place and please, let's discuss this matter and since I am banned from the other site, invite BAF. I will not fight with either of you but an airing of the issue could help BAF, You and myself.

Let's NOT bring debates from/about other Boards to this one.

We have enough issues (with Bill) on our own without adopting step-children from other boards.

No fear, Bob, and thank you for saying this. I wouldn't dream of faulting any board of Christian faith. As you know, I have been a member here virtually from the beginning.

    Cheers, and bless,

    Jim

Thanks Dr B. It is quite unfair to judge an entire board when we only hear one side of the story.

That would be the reason I did not and will not name the board. Without Jim addressing the issue any further than he has, to sit in judgment without cause, I will not name the board either.

That sounds like a rather authoritarian point to make, especially seeing as how you've not actually experienced college or seminary.

Perhaps you are mistaken? After all, you are going on either someone else's assessment or your own preconceived notion of the places you judge, but have no real experience of your own to confirm or deny that such is true. Nor can you read about some experience or another because there are no real texts written that explain what a college or seminary doctor may or may not say in the context of a classroom...

Additionally, can you point out definitively that college profs and seminary doctors are not also enlightened by the Holy Spirit in their studies of the text and other pertinent documents of faith and history? If it can be true for you, one would assume that it can be also true for others who are of faith in Christ, right?

I don't have a dog in this fight, but when I see this sort of a priori excrement tossed about as if it is true, I tend to step in and at least point out the inconsistency.

Well, it also authoritarian that you have put this issue forward in the manor you have rather than to inquire of my knowledge of these matters. Please do not be offended by this because I had a great belly laugh at your expense. Some fourteen years ago I was very large on debating over the Internet and in the course of that misadventure I encountered Profs. and Docs. that took me on about my very Fundamental Belief Structure for the oft stated purpose of liberalizing my point of view.

I also have a great deal of non conflicting second hand knowledge from cousins, nephews, nieces and grandchildren. You can scream poo-fah till the cows come home but I am a very nonsense type of a man. If I look into the woods and I see smoke, I do not feel the need to go look before I pull out the tractors and begin to cut a fire break

Now, as mentioned, I will not debate anything any longer, it's fool's play ad I'm not interested. If you wish a discussion, I'll engage you. Jim and the other parties are members here (I was incorrectly recruited through this forum) but it looks very much like they have fallen silent. They never even had the decency to notify me by email and that is available on any of my websites and all the forums I join have it.

So, if you do not feel the need to fight, I'll converse and if it grows beyond being civil I'll just ignore.

You've, so far, said nothing that refutes what I wrote... I grasp the concept of knowing things without actually experiencing them, but in the case of higher education, you are incorrect, and if I dare say it, you would not have a leg to stand on if not for the efforts of those who have taken the time and spent the money to learn and teach the things they do. Unless you are independently the most brilliant person on earth, with exhaustive knowledge of all things (aka, God in the flesh) you have profited from the work of those in the university and seminary, but simply don't wish to admit it.

    Liberalize? Okay... :BangHead:

Once more you have assumed rather than to inquire... a most embarrassing habit for one to indulge in. I will say this, you are, most certainly, free to assume anything you wish but for the lack of intelligent purpose or gain this attempt to drag me into a street fight is over.

Good day and may God bless.

2 Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Whoops - sorry, I don't have a Thd, PhD in Religious studies, etc. Shoulda kept my mouth shut. I'll butt out now.

You know, some of the most wrong-headed people I've ever witnessed had advanced degrees. I guess, sometimes, people must devote their lives to getting things wrong.

Take for example; man-made global warming and the theory of evolution. Lots of guys with PhDs caused all the ruckus over these two issues, but that did not make them correct.
