I'm preparing to download the latest version of Firefox, but I'd like to be able to save all of my favorites somewhere else on my hard drive.

Why? Because the last time I did an upgrade of Firefox, all of my favorites just vanished...POOF...never to be seen again. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper.

So I guess my question would be this; where are the favorites saved on the hard drive so I can make a back-up copy?

Many thanks in advance for any info / suggestions / comments y'all can provide!

    Adam :)

go to bookmarks menu, choose to organize bookmarks and one of the menus is backup etc. just open that and backup or export to your place of choice.

Well, I guess there was no need to save my favorites this time around; the upgrade to Firefox 3 went off without a hitch.

Had to download a couple of updated add-ons, but other than that it was smooth sailing.

Great. I've been using FF for a number of upgrades now with little problems and love it.

If any of your extensions no longer work with the new version, use Nightly Tester Tools to force compatibility.

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543

It is one extension that I cannot do without, as many of my extensions are outdated now.
