SBC Convention votes to denigrate God's word in the TNIV

    We use inclusive language today. That's just what we do. Good luck getting published or taken seriously in academic circles if you don't.

    There is no reason to say "man" when the context clearly indicates "men and women" or "all people" or "all believers." That's what the TNIV gives us. It's a wonderful translation put together by fantastic evangelical scholars and textual critics. By the way, the coordinator of the project, who was one of my professors in grad school, is a devoted complementarian (which I don't agree with; still, he's a fantastic scholar and a wonderful man).

    This whole response on the part of the SBC comes from a bunch of their biggest blowhards who think it's their place to correct everyone. It was political, nothing less.
