Of course we really need to start another discussion on this subject, as it might be an interesting conversation.

 

Theological liberals are those who reject the basic tenents of Christianity. These were outlined in the fundamentals.

For example, all true Christians believe in the deity of Christ, the inerrancy of Scripture, etc.

Yet how do we then view conservatives that are into 1611 KJVO ism? Which is outright racism. Or make all sorts of legalistic judgements like those that drink alcohol are in sin. What if we were to take the view that those that teach Cessationism are grieving the Holy Spirit and have no truth and we should not have fellowship with them.

The point that I am driving at, is that it is impossible to apply a label suggesting that Moderates are Liberals and resultingly Conservatives are the only group correct, when it can be pointed out that there are issues in extreme conservatism that are just as bad as those over in the Liberal side.

Moderates consider each issue, they are not supporting the Liberal or the right wing cause for good reason.

I'd leave the decision as to who is and who isn't a real Christain up to God. He gets to make that call. I know people who do not believe in innerancy, but have a profound love for the Lord, lead people to Christ, and love missions. Just because they may, for example, believe that Genesis is much more about God's relationship with man rather than a history text does not mean someone is not a true Christian.
