    Abbey,

I think there are a couple of Southeastern grads on the forum. All the ones I know predate the fundamentalist takeover.

Liberal that I am, I'd try to push your husband toward Winston-Salem where he could get his M.Div. at Wake Forest University. ;)

Being a SEBTS grad, you and your husband are making a good choice. Patterson is an outstanding leader and is building an awesome institution.

BTW, SEBTS = Southeastern & SBTS = Southern

I am a graduate of both and believe you cannot go wrong in either direction.

Yeh, i noticed that i missed the "E" after i posted. my husband's best friend is going to SBTS, us to SEBTS. it can get quite confusing:p
About Wake Forest's seminary, we definitley found it to be way to liberal...plus SEBTS has Mdiv with church planting both international and stateside, we either want to church plant in S. America or New England;) We met with Patterson when we visited and really liked his mission-mindedness. Also, I can pursue my Masters while there as well.

I'm always curious about how our side of the baptist worl is viewed by the other camp. What did you see/hear at Wake that made you decide it was too liberal?

Hey, I think you are making a wise choice considering SEBTS. I am a student there now, with only one semester left. The school is lead by very inteligent teachers. When I was coming here I thought I knew alot, being raised in the church. I was quickly humbled by the knowledge the teachers have. Dr. Patterson is an amazing man, not to mention a great speaker/motivator. Southeastern is a strong Bible believing school. I was surprized by how much SEBTS is from college, it is alot more difficult than college was. The school is challenging but I wouldn't change schools. I wish I could stick around and get my Phd. but I want to get out in to my ministry. If you are devoted to the Lord and believe the Word of God is true from cover to cover, you will love SEBTS. I hope I have helped you out.
