Today I was listening to the radio and they were talking about the school shootings, I do not understand how anyone could do that. Can anyone help me understand? How do you feel?

In a word - selfishness. Our society is not getting better Ishouldbehappy. Our society seems to praise people for "breaking out of the norm and being diffent" then ostracizes the true individuals who do not follow the status quo. In reality the only "nonconformism" they encourage is following whatever popular form of social rebellion seems to be in vougue. This is not something new but is a phenomena that has been happening for over 30 years. Becuase of more violent television and video games people have a conduit for more creativity which leads to greater destruction. In the end we must only blame ourselves because how many of these people do we see every day walking around our schools that even we as Christians don't want to associate with because they are not with an "in crowd"?

I just wish that things like this did not happen. I feel that to many times people take things like this to lightly. My sister and I are not in the in crowd and our friends are not. Even though we do not get angry and go kill the people at school. I feel many times at school as if I am on the outside looking in but I still do not feel the need to hurt someone.

    Kristen,

You should be happy, with Jesus in your life (May I make that assumption?).

People that do not have Jesus, do not have hope. Sometimes the fear of going on without hope overcomes them. Most often, they will attempt suicide. Sometimes, they will attempt to kill someone. Other times, they will go on a rampage, because they blame others for their feelings.

I and many others are praying for the families there, and we are praying for young adults everywhere, that Satan will not win their hearts.

    God Bless,

    Wayne

What a sad day it's been for the victims of this tragic shooting. We are once again reminded of the sway that Satan has over those who yield their members to unrighteousness.

Lord, watch over and comfort the families and loved ones of those whose lives were taken in this terrible incident.

When we read of tragedies such as this, or the courtroom shootings in Atlanta, or what happened to that sweet little 9 YO girl in FL, it has to tear our hearts out. Yet this is exactly what God's Word says will happen in the end times: "The love of many shall wax cold."

I'm reminded of another school yard shooting that took place about a half dozen years ago in Jonesboro, AR. At that one, a teacher, Mrs. Shannon Smith Wright, bolted in front of a group of her middle school students to shield them from the bullets that were intended for those young folks.

As a result of her fast thinking, the lives of many of her students were saved, but Mrs. Wright and her unborn child that she was carrying died.

In the resulting interviews that were shown on national media, without exception, each of her still shocked students stood before the cameras and testified of Mrs. Wright:

"She wasn't just our teacher...she was our friend! She was always there for us to talk to about any problem or struggle we were facing. She was almost a second mother to us--somebody who would listen to us, encourage us, and pray with us. If Jesus were a middle school teacher, I think He'd be a lot like Mrs. Wright was.

"We love you, Mrs. Wright--you were one of our best friends!"

On her headstone is engraved these words taken from the Gospel of John:
"Greater love has no one than this: That a person lay down his life for his friends."

Shannon Smith Wright was the cousin of one of my church's deacons.

Sadly, Mrs. Wright is gone, and so are all these others. Yet as we near Easter, let's not forget that our VERY BEST FRIEND is alive and well!

He did more than lay down His life for His friends...He lay down His life for us who were His enemies who were dead in trespasses and sin. He rose again for our justification and sanctification. He ever liveth to make intercession for us. He invites us all to "Come unto Me, and I will give you rest." And, "O taste and see that the LORD He IS good, and His mercy endureth unto all generations."

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for not only loving us and dying for us, but also for caring for us every day, and for blessing us in so many ways--most of which we are probably not even aware.

We love You because You first loved us.

Thanks again, Jesus, for being so faithful to us even when we aren't faithful to You.

In Your precious and saving name,

    Amen.

    Lamentations 3:21-23

Kristen we live in a day of evil, and sadly it will get worse. (I'm not a proclaimer of doom, but the Bible teaches this.)
It's simply put, sin, the devil, and him seeking whom he may devour. Some folks think I'm nutty, but just as I believe in a my Saviour, heaven, and salvation, I also believe in the devil, his devils, and their evil works.
Because of this some people are "without natural affection" as I believe Romans says. There are just some people influanced or even possesd by devils who are wicked, and do things such as this.
Now, I don't know the whole story, and I don't know much about the kid responsible for this tradgedy, so I can't say for sure that was his problem. I just don't know.
But I do know this; everyone born is a sinner. Wicked and ungodly all of us once were. Those without Christ are simply living as that sin nature is.
This dosn't mean I'm not sympathetic to the pain some of these young people go through. I spent the first eleven years of my life thinking I was no good, that no one could ever consider loving or caring for me, and I would be better off dead; and but for the grace of God I would have committed suicide. And sadly, and I'm ashamed to say at that period of my life I considered killing some people at school. BUT...that was BEFORE the grace of God reached down and I was born again! It's things like what this kid did that gives me a passion to work with troubled teens one day. I've been there, and it's a dark, lonely, and evil place to be. I want other young people to know that "HEY! Someone does care for you. Someone loved you so much He died so you could live! You don't have to live like this, you can be complete with the Lord! You can belong. To the most wonderful Family ever. The Family of God."
See, while I'd never ever ever condone the actions of this past week, or anything like it, my heart hurts for people with the problems this kid had. I wish that before he'd pulled that triger someone would have preached the gospel to him and he would have responded. I wish he'd gotton saved.
It's sad. My heart breaks for the families who lost loved ones this week. How awful. How awful this world has become.
That's why I'm so glad that "in my father's house are many mansions...I go to prepare a place for you...I will come again." I'm glad Jesus gave us these promises. Thank God I'm heaven bound.
    Because of the blood,
    Miss Abby Lou

Thanks everyone I could never kill anyone I do not really see how anyone could. Thanks for all you had to say it is all very helpful.
Wayne the name comes form a Matthew west song.
It talks about how we as Christians never have a reason to not be happy but sometimes we forget that we hve no reason to be unhappy in any thing we ar going threw.
If you would like I could post the lyrics it is a great song

    Happy lyrics

    Artist - Matthew West
    Album - Various Songs
    Lyrics - Happy

3 o'clock tripping dow the sidewalk
Looking like afool with a pocket full of questions
I was living in a worry
    Moving in a hurry
    In the wrong direction
But then, suddenly it hit me
Doesn't really matter 'cause I got You with me
I think I don' t have to be so down, down, down, down, down

    CHORUS
    I should be happy
    I should be happy
I should be living up these days
Just like I know who runs this place
    Now that you found me
    I should be happy

    3:30, got a little dirty
Fear stuck its foot out and I tripped on the same lie
That voice screaming into my head
    Pushing me to play dead
    Saying, 'don't you even try'
But how can I claim to be free
When I carry more chains than the world when they see me?
I don't wanna be the fool who stays down, down, down, down, down

    REPEAT CHORUS
    Bridge:
Now I'm not talking 'bout a smile so fake
While the world takes pictures 24/7
I just want my failth to be a little more real
What you see is what you get
What you see is how I feel

    REPEAT CHORUS

This is where I got the name form

I am a happy go lucky type of person. I know sometimes people feel like their is no other way and I just want to hug them and love them and tell them about Jesus. I feel that if more Christians were reaching out to the kids who feel alone and are hurting we would not have so many problems like this.
I just pray for everyone involved that they will be ok
