    Revelation
5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

5:6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

The seals of the scroll [Revelation 5; 6] symbolize the prevalent conditions that will dominate the coming judgment period of the Lord's hour [time] of trial on the earth and the 7 trumpet soundings will herald the actual judgment events beginning in chapter 8 of the book of Revelation. All of the judgments are activated and controlled by the Lord and they will lead up to His visible return at the end of the tribulation period. [Revelation 6; 8]

The first 6 trumpet soundings will transpire in rapid succession at the beginning of the period. The first 4 represent the physical destruction of 1/3 of the target area of the great city part of Mystery Babylon the Great. The 5th and 6th represent the release of fallen angelics from the abyss and from under the Euphrates River. [Revelation 9]

The seventh trumpet sounding includes judgments which are specifically directed at Abaddon-Appolyon [satan's beast] and his human followers at the end of the period. This trumpet heralds the destruction of the kingdom of the beast, the victory of the Lord, and the establishment of His millennial kingdom on earth. [Revelation 10:7; 11:15; 16:1-17]

The trumpet judgments are purposely held in check [Revelation 7:1-3] until the 144,000 mortal Israelites are sealed for service on the earth. Then John is shown the 24 elders and the great multitude of believers in heaven and around the throne [Revelation 4:4,5:5-10,7:9-17] .... the actual judgment events then begin in chapter 8.

John first sees the 24 elders and the great multitude of believers in heaven when he is transported there to be shown what is to take place "hereafter" during the coming hour of the Lord's judgments and beyond.

The Lord has said that He would keep all living believers at the time from the hour of His trial [judgment] that is coming upon the whole world. Both dead and living believers of the church will be immortalized just before the judgment trumpet soundings begin in chapter 8 of the book of Revelation. [Revelation 3:10; 18:4]

The 144,000 Israelites will be selected for service and will be the first fruits [saved believers redeemed from the earth] of the tribulation period. Their mission will be to take the gospel to Israel and to the nations during the period. [Matthew 24:14; Revelation 14:6-7]

They will be sealed with the Lord's protection so that the effects of the tribulation will not harm them. They will begin their witness at the onset of the period and will continue during the entire tribulation of 2,550 days. [Revelation 14:1-7]

The symbol of the first seal [white horse] represents the spreading the eternal gospel of the kingdom [Matthew 24:14] and salvation of those who become believers during the entire period of the Lord's wrath. He will not withdraw His offer of salvation from those who will turn to Him.

The actions of "conquering", and to "conquer" again during the tribulation period represent the saving power of the gospel just prior to the coming judgments and then during the period. [Revelation 6:1-2]

The Lord is seen with the 144,000 sealed Israelites on Mount Zion [Jerusalem] and they follow Him wherever He goes. He will be leading them to spread the gospel of His soon coming kingdom. He will not be seen by the world while engaged in this activity. [Revelation 14:1-7]

In the symbol of the white horse [first seal .... symbol of the Lord's salvation power] the rider is not weaponized [no arrows] and goes forth conquering and to continue to conquer. In the later phase of His involvement the Lord is seen riding a white horse at Armageddon and He is weaponized [fire and sword] for war. [Revelation 6:1-2: 19:11]

The symbol of the white horse is used to represent His continuous involvement from the beginning of His hour [time] of trial to and including the battle of Armageddon. He is both the savior of those who believe and the conquering King who will take back the earth for His own purposes.

After this He will appear visibly to the whole world and every eye will see Him and every knee will bow to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. [Matthew 24: 29-31; Revelation 1:7-8]

The symbol of the second seal [red horse] represents intense warfare by the actions of satan and his angelic and human agents including Abaddon-Apollyon, the false prophet, the human little horn [king], and the 10 other horns [kings]. [Revelation 6:3-4]

Satan will be denied access to heaven and confined to the earth during the Lord's hour of trial. He will be thrown to the earth with his fallen angelics at the beginning of the period having great wrath because he knows his time will be short. [Revelation 12]

These shall take peace from the earth by warfare, great destruction, persecution, and suppression. Satan's warfare will begin with the destruction of the "great city" of Mystery Babylon the Great. [Revelation 6; 8; 17; 18]

The next wars will involve his conquering of most of the Middle East including the land of Israel and then will include his own defeat at Armageddon. [Ezekiel 39; 39; Daniel 11:36-45]

Egypt [the king of the south] will be conquered and other governments in the Middle East will be over thrown. Abaddon-Apollyon [in the little horn, a king of the northern Middle East] will attack and destroy others north and east of the Middle East that he will view as a threat [Daniel 11:31-45].

Abaddon-Apollyon is satan's "anti-christ" [against Christ] and he will rule the Middle East and will cause great destruction to the rest of the world. He will rule for 42 months, but will be challenged and defeated by the Lord at Armageddon. [Revelation 13:5; 11:2]

The warfare will begin with the first four trumpet judgments [fire, massive physical destruction, environmental pollution of water sources, and darkness]. [Revelation 8]

These judgments are directly related to the destruction of the great city part of Mystery Babylon which will be located in an area outside of the Middle East. [Revelation 17; 18]

This attack will trigger the conditions of the third seal [black horse] representing worldwide economic collapse and famine which will result in the aftermath of war and destruction [Revelation 6:5-6].

    Seals and judgments continued .....

The condition of the fourth seal [pale horse] represents the mass physical killing of humans in warfare and related sickness and disease. These conditions will continue in varying degrees throughout the period. [Revelation 6:7-8]

One fourth of the world's land surface [50% of the current land area is inhabited by human populations] will be subject to human death. This would amount to one half of the current world population and would mean that as many as three billion humans will be killed.

The condition of the fifth seal reveals tribulation believers who are martyred for their faith by the beast and his adherents. These will become believers during the period and will be killed for their faith. [Revelation 6:9-11]

These martyrs will be resurrected at the end of the tribulation period. This is the first type of resurrection to immortal life of those who become believers and are martyred for their faith during the period. [Revelation 20:4]

This resurrection is not to be confused with the immortalization of today's church which will occur just before the beginning of the Lord's hour of trial. The tribulation martyrs will be beheaded for their faith.

The first type of resurrection is the resurrection to life. The second death will have no power over these believers as it will over all other humans who have not and will not responded to the Lord's call for the salvation of their spirits.

All of Adam's descendants up to the end of this present age who don't respond to the Lord's offer of salvation will experience the second type of resurrection to the second death of their spirits and will face judgment at the end of the coming 1,000 year rule of the Lord on the earth. [Revelation 20:11-15]

Their names will not be found in the book of life and these will experience the second death of eternal punishment [elimination of their spirits] and cease to exist forever.

The symbol of the sixth seal portrays the related human response to the Lord's judgment during the tribulation period. These will hide from Him and will avoid repentance [Revelation 6:12-17; 9:20]

The 7th seal represents silence in heaven just before the Lord begins His judgment process on the earth [Revelation 8]

The fifth trumpet sounding [first woe] will follow immediately on the heels of the destruction of the great city of Mystery Babylon [first 4 trumpet judgments] and heralds the release of Abaddon-Apollyon, the fallen angelic king of the abyss and the other abyss angels.

Abaddon-Apollyon will be released from the abyss by satan and will begin to influence and control the little horn [human king] who will be ruling his sixth head (dominion, kingdom) in the Middle East. [Revelation 9:1-11, 13:1; 17:8]

The human little horn and the ten other kings will destroy Mystery Babylon's great city part and then Abaddon-Apollyon's release by satan will immediately follow. Satan's objective will be to incarnate his angelic beast who is Abaddon-Apollyon in the little horn of Daniel's visions to rule the next and seventh divided kingdom of iron and clay for 42 months. [Daniel 2:31-44, 7;7-27; 8:9-12; 8:23-25; 11:36-45; 12:7]

The fifth trumpet will also trigger the release of myriads of other abyss angelics who are under the command of satan. These are fallen angels who have been reserved for judgment actions during the the tribulation period. [Jude 1:6; Revelation 9]

They are described [symbolized] as scorpions and they will cause great pain and suffering for those who are not sealed and protected by the Lord. The 144,000 Israelites will not be harmed by this judgment or any others during the tribulation.

The opening of the abyss is conducted by a star [a fallen angelic] "falling" from heaven who has the key of the abyss. This is satan who is thrown to earth at the beginning of the Lord's hour of trial. He will be allowed to release Abaddon-Abaddon Apollyon, the first beast of Revelation. [Revelation 9, 12]

The Lord's angel [not satan] who "comes down" from heaven is also given the same key to the abyss at the end of the tribulation period. He captures satan and locks him in the abyss for 1,000 years so that he cannot deceive the nations during the 1,000 year reign of Lord. [Revelation 20:1]

The sixth trumpet judgment [second woe] will involve fallen angelic armies who will be released from the Euphrates River area for the purpose of killing one third of all humans on the earth. [Revelation 9]

The seventh and last trumpet sounding of the tribulation period [third woe] is unique and its sounding will bring the Lord's direct judgments upon the beast [Abaddon-Apollyon] and his kingdom of followers at the end of the period. [Revelation 16]

The sounding of this trumpet will include the destruction of the kingdom of the beast and then the restoration of kingdom to Israel .... the 1,000 year kingdom of the Lord on the earth. [Micah 4; Acts 1:6-7; Revelation 20:1-8]

These judgments will be directed at the beast and his followers and will culminate in the battle of Armageddon. Their duration will be for 30 days following the last half of the of the 70th week decreed for Israel [the tribulation period .... the time of Jacob's trouble]. [Jeremiah 30; Daniel 12]

The judgments will include grievous sores on their bodies, environmental pollution, drought, and severe scorching heat from the sun. They will not repent of their transgressions toward the Lord, will openly defy Him, and will attempt to hide from Him. [Revelation 6:12-17]

The beast's government and base of operations will be in the target area and the beast and his armies will react by challenging the Lord at Armageddon.

Satan, the beast, and the false prophet will gather the human armies of their allies into the Middle East for war. It is the Lord who will set up satan up for his own defeat. [Ezekiel 38, 39; Micah 5; Revelation 14:14-20; 16:1-16; 19:11-21]

The Euphrates River will be emptied of its water and the river bed will serve as a means to transport the armies that come from the near east. [Revelation 16:12]

The Lord will activate a worldwide earthquake during the battle of Armageddon that will destroy all of the cities left in the world. [Revelation 16:18-19]

It will also divide the land mass into three parts where the great city part of Mystery Babylon existed before it was destroyed at the beginning of the His hour of trial. [Revelation 16:18-19]

The last seven years of this present age will come to an end, the beast and the false prophet will be destroyed in the lake of fire. Satan will be sent to the abyss, and the Lord will rule the earth from Jerusalem for 1,000 years. [Micah 4; Revelation 19, 20]
