Second American Revolution Necessary?

    I have no idea! I got it from the signature line of a friend on another forum. He doesn't know where it originated either. He copied it from a website which, also, doesn't know where it came from.

    But it is too good to ignore just because I can't give credit to the author. :)

    What's sad is that most men today are looking to men for deliverance. Whether they have their trust in the Dems, the Reps, the Tea Party, the Libertarians, or in a man made revolution, men are looking to men for deliverance.

    I find it ironic that those who claim that President Obama blames everything on Bush, blame everything on Obama. Carpro is a prime example!

    The old government is abolished every 2 years and a new government is seated. That is the wonder of the Constitution! It eliminates the need for a new revolution. Who we going to hang? The people we just elected to congress?

    Exactly - this is what I don't understand, Every two years the people can elect 435 members of the House and 1/3 of the Senate. How is a revoltion outside of the ballot box needed?

    People think more about their, Friday night, car, what they are going to wear, sports and so on, they don't have time to study on who to vote for, but they sure can complain. I've got a friend who enjoys politics, so he went out on a Saturday in Daytona Beach and ask people who was their congressman and who their two senators were and less than 25 percent could tell who their congressman was and about 50 percent got one of the senators but about 10 percent got both of them. How sad.

    Since only 1/3 of the Senate is elected every two years (with incumbenets having a 90% re-election rate) very little changes.
    Yes, the voters do vote but, as Bob A says very few know who the reps are - sad - so sad:tear:

    I disagree. If 1/3 of the incumbents were replaced it would revolutionise Congress.

    The operative word is IF

    Many do want Congress kicked out - except for their own Congressman or Senator - esp if they bring home a lot of bacon.
    That is one major problem - thus the 90%+ relection rate.

    In addition we might elect a man for a issue he is running on, but that could be the only issue we agree.

    For example, Carl Paladino has said in his ads for Governor, he would use eminent domain to stop the Muslim temple in NYC. Many people like that thinking - but without realizing it, they may disagree with every other issued on his platform. In general, many voters are very ignorant of the issues and candidates. Sad, so very sad.:tear:

    If the voters are THAT ignorant a new revolution would probably give us a worse government.
