No offense here, enda. Look forward to reading what you have to say. Keep your chin up. We're all family! Maybe some of us just have a harder time sitting next to each other in the car!

    Thanks Joshua. [IMG]

    Mike,

If you are genuinely concerned about me perhaps you would remove me from your 'ignore list' otherwise feel free to ignore me here as well. :D

Thanks for your prayers, please continue tto pray for me that I will have the grace to be more tolerant in future.

    God Bless you too.

    Enda

"You Don't Own Me" evil? [IMG]

You know, except for a brief revival for the movie "The First Wives Club", that song hasn't been on the charts since Lesley Gore had a hit with it in the early 60s. It is truly irrelevant to today's teens.

Compared to Eminem and others popular today, it is very innocent. The attacks on popular music keep occurring, generation after generation. People derided Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, the Beatles and many others. Yet I don't think the world came to an end over "You Ain't Nothin' but a Hound Dog", or "I Want To Hold Your Hand".

Next thing you know, we will be attacking the Alphabet Song because it promotes "graven images"!

enda, the reason I put you on my ignore list is because when you first started posting here, you sent me a PM that was...well...let's just say it was quite unChristlike and leave it at that.

I choose not to subject myself to that and I still wonder if I should have reported you for it. It's too late now. I've made my choice not to report you and I'll live with that. But I won't take you off my ignore list until your behavior vhanges to the point that I don't have to put up with any more PM's like those.

Like I said, I'm praying for you and I choose not to respond to you other than that because, until your behavior changes, I just don't see anything good coming from it.

    God bless you.

    Goodbye.

    Mike,

Actually in all seriousness the only reason I know I am on your ignore list is because I tried to send you an apology for my unChrist-like attack upon you.

I have no trouble doing it openly, since you are on-line right now, I think. I am sorry that I started a thread with the sole purpose of engaging you in an argument. I deeply regret the manner in which I have spoken to you in the past, I am sorry that I have been judgemental with regard to your lifestyle, or my perdception of it. I am sorry that you feel you have to ignore me, although I appreciate why you would want to do so. I am sorry that I have apologised before and then repeated my personal attacks upon you. I am sorry if I have ever accused you wrongly. I am sorry that you feel that I lied about you in an earlier thread although I do not accept that allegation. I am sorry if I have placed you in a position where you are tempted to disagree with me just for the sake of it. I am sorry that I am to apt to respond when I feel you do this.

I hope we can put our differences behind us and that you will accept my apology in the spirit it is intended.

    God Bless

    Enda

    enda,

It's not that I wouldn't be willing to forgive you but this is what you do every time.

You attack. You apologize. You attack. You apologize. You attack. You apologize.

You perform this big, public act of contrition and then, within one or two posts, you're back on the warpath (and I'm not the only person you've done this to).

If you were serious, you'd quit doing what it is that you keep having to apologize for.

Forgiveness is free. Trust has to be earned.

    Mike,

Is this the best you can do. I knew you would say that, it is this type of thing that rubs people up the wrong way. In my view that is why you get into so many arguments on the board. I'll pray that the Lord will give you the grace to forgive those who ask.

I've done my part, my conscience is clear toward you and God, I have never asked you to apologise once for the myriad of bitter comments you have made about me. I have never seen you apologise for anything on the board and I just pray that the Lord would heal the bitterness you seem to be harbouring in your heart, and that He will instill a Christ-like spirit of forgiveness and repentance within you.

Perhaps you are the one Christian who is without fault, I don't know, but in all sincerity you are not an easy man to love. I don't say that in a judgemental or holier than thou way, I say it as a brother in Christ and I pray that you will find it in your heart to give this some consideration.

If there is anything I can do for you or pray about please let me know. I'd like to do all I can to help you to get rid of this anger and unforgiving spirit.

I don't think you appreciate how difficult it is for people to say 'I'm sorry' especially when the feel they have been sinned against as much as they have sinned. I hope in future you will have the grace to meet people half-way and be a little more Christ-like in your responses to apologies.

As I say, I have done all I can, and will continue to endeavour to not upset you, or engage in personal attacks upon you but that does not, nor never will include turning a blind eye to sin which is flaunted in my face.

    God Bless you

    Enda

Mike, I am left in a state of confusion over these two contradictary remarks.

Forgiveness is free, and rightly so as it is so with Christ. However you have not said you do forgive me as evidenced in the top quote.

Just so as I know where I stand, could you give me a yes or no answer without any ambiguity please.

Do you forgive me? If yes, then tell me please, is it free or do you want to place any further conditions upon it?

    Thankyou

    Enda

PS I want to seek to reassure you that I am sincere.

For example in your earlier post you said:

I don't know if this was a genuine mistake on your part or an outright lie but I can assure you and those reading this that I have never and I repeat NEVER sent you a PM of any description let alone one of the nature you describe here. I would ask you now to put this right.

I choose to overlook this post when I read it earlier and would not be bringing it up now if you had accepted my apology. As things stand it might serve as a reminder to you that I am not the only one who should be apologising here.

I might add that if you read the posts on P.3 you will notice that you attempt to engage Scott in a conversation about my faults as a person. Thankfully, by Gods grace Scott resisted the temptation to respond to your gossip, although Travelsong joined in with his views. I hope you will note that I have never talked about you to anyone, when I have had a problem with you I address it directly to you. You might want to think about an apology here also.

This is something which I have seen you do to others in the past, and indeed your penchant for idle chat has been a source of disagreement with us in the past. (Eg. Your attack upon Aaron)

Take it as read that I forgive you for these sins, in spite of your tendency to overlook them, knowing that I myself am not blameless, but only a sinner saved by Grace.

    Colorado,

You are right, please forgive us for taking this thread off topic, but I'm sure you'll appreciate there is something going on here that would be best sorted out for the sake of unity. It can only be done via this public forum as I cannot communicate privately with Mike.

By the way, you are not the only one who is dyslexic around here, I think I'm going to have to change my name to Bro Enda to save me from having to explain it every other day [IMG]

    God Bless

    Enda

    Thanks Mike.

As I say my conscience is clear and I am happy that I have behaved properly towards you. I appreciate your prayers.

If you are happy to face judgement for the things I have pointed out to you, well there is nothing I can do about that. I hope you come to realise that honouring Christ is much more important than covering up sin and saving face.

1Peter 5:5 ..Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility : for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble.

May the Lord reward you according to your wish.

    Enda
