    Thanks Rippon

Psalm 145:13 is a verse where the Dead Sea scrolls play an important part.

In them we find the missing acrostic letter "N"

I'm really surprised that the REB doesn't include it!

The Septuagint (Greek), the Clemintine Vulgate (Latin) and many more recent versions do, Holman's CSB, NIV, (TNIV, NIrV), ESV, GNT, NAB, NCV, NLT, RSV, NRSV,

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.
The Lord is faithful in all his words, and gracious in all his deeds.

    Psalm 145:13 NRSV

The NIV and TNIV have the following footnote for the latter part of Ps. 145:13 :"One manuscript of the Masoretic Text, Dead Sea Scrolls and Syriac ( see also Septuagint ); most manuscripts of the Masoretic Text do not have the last two lines of verse 13."

The last two lines of the NIV/TNIV : "The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does."

Rippon, a fellow blogger sent me a free copy of the REB Oxford Study Bible with the Apocrypha. I got it in the mail today. An almost brand new copy, I say.

Nice. My REB doesn't have the Apocrypha.
