As we are all aware, each State or Commonwealth has two Senators.

How many district offices should each Senator have?

New York State has a population of 20 million residents with about one-half in NY City
NY at 285 miles by 330 miles is about 54,000 sq miles.

Other than her DC office Senator Gillibrand has nine district offices

Senator Schumer has eight district offices.

Each senator has one district office in a city that the other does not. Thus seven cities have offices for both Senators.

If you were in charge how would you have senators set up district offices? By population, geography, ect?

    Good post!

This is an area where being frugal could save some real money provided...

    1. You should have at least one office where the probability of the people not have reliable internet or phone service.

    2. Ensure your e-mail contact works on a daily basis by actually having staffers test from their own home computers.

    3. Ensure you have enough qualified staff to actually handle the phones and e-mail correspondence...

One of my two Senators has *never* answered an e-mail! The other has not replied substantively...

So, one the down side with many out offices at least an irrate voter has a place to go to sound off.
